Engine was a brand new crate motor (0 miles) when installed. The H55F with TC was an Australian import from Specter with unknown mileage, but very clean when rec'd. New H55F's were unavailable when I assembled this. I have run Redline MT-90 synthetic in both the trans and tc since it was...
1985 Toyota FJ-60 Land Cruiser

For sale is our treasured 1985 FJ-60 Land Cruiser. It has provided many adventures during our 17 years of ownership and 36K...
Tire size increases will always put more strain on the rest of the drive train. You'll be able to drive, but with 33's find that the auto trans will be shifting at rpm's which make the engine work harder, and limit acceleration. I've got an '89 4Runner I've driven for 250K miles and moved up to...
Rear disks
Elbert,
I've been running the TSM rear disk kit for about 3 years on my 60, and have been very pleased w/ the braking performance. One issue I ran into is with OME heavy rear springs, one of the caliper bolts won't clear the spring packs, so caliper removal is a pain requiring...
How do they ride?
I located an older set of Recaros from a 3 Series that I had re-upholtered and refurbished, then fit them into my '85. I made adapters which allow use of the original Toy slider mechanisms to bolt to the seat bottom. Everything went together well, but when I started driving...
Greetings from Expo, thanks for the pics of your fuel system. That's the fuel pump I started with, but for some reason the 11106 ate itself in a few thousand miles. I returned it to Aeromotive who replaced it under warranty, but we couldn't figure out the cause. I switched to less expensive...
pump location
Like Kurtis says, it would probably be better to mount the pump as close to the tank as possible and low so it's mostly gravity / siphon fed. That said, with your low pressure requirements for the TBI, there are many pumps out there that should be able to provide good service...
I commute from Battle Ground, WA to Beaverton everyday, and had to pass WA emissions with my '85 60 Series, but it's a V-8 conversion. Is there something specific? I speak a little "2F"...
Much clearer now
Djawahir, thanks for the photos, that makes more sense. Curious, what's the function of the other line (left in photo) on the outlet of your pump?
I might look for a Toy factory fuel pump assm. for a smaller hole and fit my aftermarket pump (The Bosch pumps are less than 2.5"...
Post those pics...
I'm interested in seeing the in-tank conversion also. I've got a 350 Ramjet with a Bosch external pump and the LRA tank together right now in my 60 and am concerned about it's long term durability. I started with an Aeromotive 11106 external pump and managed to "wear" it out...
Sounds like progress
P,
Your alternator looks almost identical to mine and the most common is 95 -100 amp max output. There's a larger body (160 amp?), but I don't know if it will directly bolt up to the serpentine assembly.
I've got to take some better pics, but here's progress so far...
