This was the other half of the recent front end work on my '95 DD. See previous data sheet post for steering parts.
Yes, I know Joey put this together as a poster, and it's much better than this. I have one. Or rather, I did have one; it's on my son's wall now.
These are my work notes...
Since I just went through all this on my '95 DD, I thought I'd share. I'm in the process of replacing all the assembly sheets (like this one) in my copy of the 1995 FSM, with annotated sheets similar to this. When I get it done, I'll post an update.
Note: I've listed the standard bolt torque...
I called my local dealership to get some parts for the nice weekend weather repair work I have planned, and while I had them on the phone I asked if they had a part number for the grease used in the electric motor driven gearing (specifically the window motors).
What they came back with was...
I need to replace the wiper switches on both my 1995 and my son's 1994.
1994 p/n: 84652-60730 -> NLA, according to Toyota
1995 p/n: 84652-60770 -> available
Before I go Japanese part shopping, has anyone replace the earlier part number with the later one?
@slow95z do you have either/both of...
Wasting time annotating my FSM, at the close of my overdue front axle service, and found this:
(from the brake section, BR-18)
(from the axle section, SA-10)
So, what am I missing? Are these two torque values for the same bolt?
The first image in the first illustration and the second image...
Free to good home:
I have this from a repair I did on my LX570 years ago. My daughter has it now, and since she's in Dallas, there's no chance it'll get used.
I recently decided to put my background in design, manufacturing and global sourcing to use for myself, and potentially everyone else, to solve the sunroof seal problem on my 80s.
As everyone with an 80 knows, you can't get the replacement sunroof glass assembly anymore, and Toyota, in their...
Replacing several rubber suspension parts on my Jan-95 80 this week. Original, OEM, shocks, body mount bushings and all four rod ends. I want to do this in stages to try to quantify which are the best bang for the buck, in terms of single items to replace to improve ride quality.
Rear shocks...
and one final bit of trivia, the front caliper mounting bolt torque is higher than the rear (I don't know if I remembered that, I may have been using the same value for both, all this time):
Just going through the (1995) FSM for torque values for the rear shocks I'm replacing and the procedure pages do not list a torque for the (lower) shock mounting bolt to the axle. The standard torque values list, does however have everything needed for the job. I annotated my copy so I don't...
My wife panicked when she got in my 80 last week and the fuel light was on. So, she did what any responsible, panicked person would do, she drove as fast as she could to the nearest pump and filled the tank with the cheapest gas she could find.
Now, to be clear, I had warned her the fuel was...
Well, I'm unhappy. I bought these last year for one of my 80's and should have bought them for all three. NLA
I think Tokico was the OEM supplier. They are still selling them. Can anyone confirm that this was the OEM supplier? @OGBeno
Maybe I knew what these were for, once upon a time, but my memory has failed me. There are five mounting tabs, with weldnuts, two on each side and one in the center, under the rear floor. This photo is looking up at the underside of the floor, with the top at the rear of the frame. Anyone know...
I need a glass shop who can replace and seal the gasket on an 80 series correctly. The most recent opinion I have, which I don't trust given the source, is that the sealant that is specified in the FSM is no longer available and no replacement is available, therefore the repair cannot be...
Anyone have the part number (and source) for the FJ40 grille badge "Toyota" emblem? It's not on the EPC, nor is it listed on the 1983 fiche I have. The expanded metal should be 53011-90301, but it doesn't show the Toyota badge on it.
When did the spline size change (what model year) and do the '76-'84 driveshafts have the same spline size as the 60 series?
I looked in the FAQ, but it's inexplicably absent.
