    oem seats for a 1961 fj40

Not sure, I had a 62' but it is gone, seats were different than say a 69 for sure. You might try the FJ25 owners group, I see some early FJ40 conversations on there. I still have a 1963' FJ45 SWB but I did not get seats with it, I put in a later set (bench and driver) from 67 or 69' back in...

    Speaking of fuel lines

Early lines were formally clear plastic, as said at glass fuel filter and to tank. I don’t know what the thread is tho, I changed mine a lone time ago (not ethanol resistant either!). Bob in CO

Looking for advice: Carb vs EFI

One thing that is sometimes missed when comparing is that fuel injection can compensate for altitude changes. In Colorado it’s not uncommon to start at 5,000 feet and end up wheeling at 11,000 - 12,000 feet altitude. This is a clear advantage for EFI.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

This "RPM Quote" makes sense with my experience, having run unleaded in numerous older cars within no apparent issues THEN 15 years ago I bought a 1988? "stern drive" boat with a Mercuriser 350 that the owner had apparently changed out the engine with a pre-hardened seats automotive engine...

1968 Fj40 locked up when starting.

I like the “proving” you can get a nearly destroyed block, piston, and head running to get back on the road for a time! Fun project! The heck with those n’th degree rebuilds!

    Barn Door Hinge Pin Removal

Nice! Could also probably drill flared end, "almost" to hinge leaf, then drive out. Either way, it's a nice upgrade.

That’ll do it. We should have guessed seat when one spring was taller but not loose.

    Color help!

I have found that colour chart is not complete for early FJ-4x, but I do not know for your year or market. That is close to the original color of my 63' FJ45 swb. Another idea is to look under a hinge. Bob in CO

    1985 FJ60 Totaled?

That damage is consistent with what ive seen ins. Companies total. The REAL question is if the frame is tweaked (twisted as out of longitudinal alignment); regardless of finances that is the question. If it initially appears straight then you could get an appraisal and better make the argument...

    350 Carb Recommendation

I think thats just a blank off plate you can remove, and is OEM spring automatic choke. Or you can use an electic choke conversion that is made for qjet (and other).

Rebuilding a F engine mechanical fuel pump

This would be great if parts worked on really early "hand prime" models with the wire loop, hopefully I still have one around for my 63' FJ45.. Had to change in the 80's?
