    05 LX470 Maintenance & Build

I just changed the front and rear diff oil and the transfer case. Lifted the car on 4 ramps, secured the front with jack stands and used one of these tools to pump the oil - it did cut off the spills but it was fairly slow...

    05 LX470 Maintenance & Build

Darn, that’s a long and expensive list. The heater Ts were replaced around 30k miles ago. I plan to do diff and transfer fluids, gas filter, grease joints next then tackle front wheel bearings and rotors. I might do the coils and plugs after and wait a bit with the rest of possible maintenance...

    Fuel Filter Change Fail

@2001LC - how important is to disconnect the wire block first? I’m having a hard time disconnecting it. Thanks

    05 LX470 Maintenance & Build

@2001LC - do you know if a new steering rack would automatically mean the dealer would also replace the steering rack bushings or I need to ask for this specifically? Thank you!

Are the 555 after-market outer tie rods just as good as the OEM? Do you recommend a different model?

    05 LX470 Maintenance & Build

Hello everyone, I am excited to be back on Mud with my new to me 2005 LX470. My goal here is to say hello first, have place to document the maintenance and further built of this nice rig as well as to ask for feedback how to make this a more reliable and enjoyable overland truck. I had a 200...

    Bumper install help?

Hi, were you able to find a good shop for this? Do you know a skilled mechanic in the Iowa City area? I have a 100 series that needs some . Thanks

    Ineos Grenadier

I would assume a Gsquared or jsut Any version of a 550 with portals would be a better choice (except for cost) - proven platform, good dealer network, much better clearance etc.

    Ineos Grenadier

I think all the issues tied to the 2023 and 24 models will prevent it from taking off. The truck has a lot of electrical issues, water leaks and all sort of annoyances and combined with a very dealer network it might turn off a lot of buyers.

    550 / 250 or an Inoes?

@gocougs - I shared my thoughts in this post. Please try to drive the IG on the road too, it might not be the perfect truck for you. If you spend some time on the Ineos forum you will see there are a fair amount of bugs with this first year batch. Less impressed after the test -...

Value of a rebuilt 62 series? Good daily driver?

Thank you guys, it is an import, from S Africa, probably the 3F. I appreciate you all chiming in, I don’t think it’s the right rig for me, I can probably live with slow but not super slow. Here is the link, in case anyone is interested Log into Facebook -...

Value of a rebuilt 62 series? Good daily driver?

Hey guys, my only experience with a LC has been a fantastic 200 series. I’m looking to go back to an LC and I found an 85 62 series, that had a body off frame restoration, looks great, no rust. It’s a manual with the 3f engine., AC working, seats look new, pretty flawless for the age. I looked...

    Rust proofing the frame

3M Cavity Wax for the inside of the frame and Amsoil metal protect HD for the outside of the frame work well

SOLD CA: 2008 Toyota LC overland built

@kwoodwo - I checked the original files, those images you mentioned were taken with Fuji XT2 and 55-200mm lens @ f5/6 and a focal length of around 120mm (in crop senior so around 200mm in full frame equivalent). By the way the truck was sold to a gentlemen in AR so you might see it on the road.
