Just got mine today. It looks fantastic. Andy, thanks again for making these. I actually didn’t need one and only bought it as a spare. I have found that when one of these passionate collectors/vendors make something obsolete, it’s best to find a way to purchase it.
@andybudge may be working on something. My suggestion, run a d40 for now as they are easier to find and not too expensive. Then rebuild your sd40 or send it out and then wait for the glass to be produced.
if I remember correctly, cruiser outfitters had mistakenly sent me a later oil sender. When I explained the problem, they sent me a different one. The sending units are apparently different for light vs gauge but they looked identical. I would check with them first. If they don’t have...
For what it’s worth, I had Jim C rebuild my SD40 carb and he could not get it to run perfect on his “test rig” without a little choke. I think he uses a 2f on his 60 series with a manifold adapter to run the older carbs. He knows how well his rig runs so the only variable is the carb. He...
I commend you for your tact. Everyone knows exactly where these parts came from but you chose to take the high road and not name names when you had every right to do so. Hopefully the vendor in question made payment in full but if not, shame on him.
Two items, make sure the distributor is fully seated when it is reinstalled. Seems simple but there are numerous threads of starving the motor of oil by not seating the distributor. Also, if interested in a rebuild, I highly recommend @4Cruisers. He is a magician with distributors
I had temporarily disconnected the sensor. This allowed the truck to level to N mode. I know the arm broke when my son ran over a pot hole. I am not sure if the sensor itself would have been damaged by that type of impact. The truck isn't local to me currenlty so i was hoping to just find a...
Well, I have never been stiffed by a Mud member but @MycoManiac offered up a used sensor so i sent him his $50.00 two weeks ago and i've never heard from him again. I am now in the market for a good used AHC ride height sensor for the LH side (drivers side) shipped to 41075
Make sure to note the orientation of the adjusters with the ramped slots from the existing cylinders and install them the same way on the new cylinders. I haven't seen new cylinders with ramped slots but City Racer seems to get the details correct so it might not be an issue.
I had to make my own. Not perfect but they worked along with 3m adhesive tape. Unfortunately, a lot of them are a are a little different so if you don’t have any to reprpduce from, it will be tough
You may want to send it off to @4Cruisers. He is a distributor whisperer. I had an old distributor that i sent to him and he made it look like new...and properly running. These old distributors can develop a wobble in the shaft and that leads to poor ignition so they often need to be totally...
