The indicator light is more than likely just telling you the LC needs some off-road exercise and the differential needs some activation. Find a dirt road and run it in 4Lo for awhile. Take it through a few crawl modes. This should keep your indicator light off for a few months or more.
Definitely plan on mud flap removal and fender trim. More importantly, you will probably need a KDSS relocate. Also, consider a +25 offset for little more space. I run 285/70r18's with a +25 offset. Tiny rub on the KDSS and minimal trimming, OME lift. Recent similar thread. Anyone...
I run 18x9 with a +25 offset. 285/70 Nitto RG's. OME lift. Slight kiss to the KDSS when fully cranked. Minimal fender rub. I'm guessing the +20 offset wouldn't be much different. Maybe a little play with alignment.
I second having 285/70/18's and their road behavior. I live in the high country in Colorado and they also do quite well in snow and ice. Not as good as a dedicated snow tire, but adequate.
80 Series 5 years.
80 Series 10 years-Regretted selling the first 80 series. Regret selling this one.
100 Series/LX 470 13 years-Still have it
200 Series 6 years and no plans to sell.
All of my LC's I bought used. Always from a 3 year lease being turned in. Always from California or Arizona.
I second this. Can't say enough about the versatility of Nitto RG's. Live in Edwards, CO (Eagle Valley) and besides constant, rugged winter driving in 200" average snowfall I also make frequent winter trips to Denver over the passes on the legendary "bad" I70. I have used Nitto RG's year...
Winterize time. Put her on a diet and lifted 200 lbs off her top. Gave her a good detail and winter wax. Surprisingly, this 2013 LC Salsa Red paint holds up really well.
