Hey there, weird thing is i just found this floating around.i have pulled it off and not put it back on i assume,it is connected to the block but am in need of help to where the other end goes please..the black and yellow wire.

ok,so if i was missing the star wheel/lock thing, and my fork/star wheel was out enough to push the shoes on the drum and stay there,
how did the star wheel/fork turn outwards? ...forgive me as i don`t get it.
All i am thinking is maybe i have the star thing/thread on the wrong side and it is...

So!:bang:.....notice anything missing in the pic....
wow.how the heck is the star wheel crank guide thing not even there.i am an idiot.
The handbrake cable in pic is really loose as well and wont stay in the guide it sits in(keeps popping out).looks flogged as well.

These answers make sense!...when i took the drum off the shoes were locked out that the arm with the star wheel on it was holding it out.

just seen this thread,i am doing very similar sized holes in my floor as you did, except i have no welder,i am using rivuts instead.
All i can do atm and then cover it in floor deadner etc, your skillz are neat matey following this for sure!.
If you can make it,go to an auto electrician and get them to check your battery and alternator with there multimeter. They should do it for free.If it is fine at least that is out of the way,and can focus more on other things.
The thing is with the regulator - eventually your battery will die,it won`t be getting charge. If the battery is not losing charge at all and as you say keeps on starting all the time,it mite be as `Seth S said.
My first thought is the alternator regulator,if that is on its way out or already out then this mite happen.i do not know where your regulator is on your alternator but giving them a little tap on them sometimes gets them working again. It sounds like you battery is not getting charged...
