Coronavirus has kept me indoors the past few days, hence the delayed response. I’m not sick, just living in the most infected city in the world at the moment, NYC! In any event, I tested for ground continuity and I seem to have a constant ground with the switch off or on. Could my switch be the...
I have a 91 lj70 whose washer motor will not operate. If I power the motor, it pumps fluid, so it seems the motor isn’t the issue. This is the electric connector that powers the motor:
I put a meter in both of the plugs on this and I get a reading of a little over 11 volts on both leads. When I...
Thanks for all of the info on this! Turned out to be just the Breaker that was bad! I was initially looking at the wrong ones. Now if I could only source a repair manual for this truck........
Questions I have are:
1) is the pictured relay the blower relay?
2) is there a fuse for the blower?
3) could I put 12 volts to the blower motor to see if it powers up? (This truck is diesel and has a 12 volt electrical system.
I have a 91 lj73 and the blower motor will not work. I don’t have a manual for the particular truck and am kinda shooting in the dark as far as what fuse, relay, etc to check. There were pieces of leaves and debris coming from the vents when the blower did operate. I’m assuming this is the...
Okay. So it turns out that the muffler was destroyed during a backfire. I was playing with the timing after swapping the dizzy and coil and remember a pretty loud backfire. I checked the muffler and it exploded, causing the crappy sounding exhaust. I replaced the entire exhaust, and now I’m back...
There are four wires connected to the coil: two to the dizzy, one’s for power and don’t know what the last one for. I tried disconnecting it and the engine would not start. I’m connecting the vacuum line today.
I’m determined to get this running right. My objective is to have a smooth running, reliable, low maintenance engine. I believe I’m on the right path and just have some tweaking to do. I’ll try swapping in the old coil and making sure all of the wires are seated properly. I do notice that the...
I need some help, please. I have a f engine that was running like a clock. I swapped out the original dizzy for a Trollhole unit. I also changed the coil to a pertronix. Prior to these changes the engine would crank right up, and run smooth. Now I have to crank it for about 30 seconds before it...
