I ended up going with the Ironman Dc to DC charger with solar (it’s discontinued now, more on that in a second) and it seems to be working great. I have the regular start battery which is lead acid and the Optima Yellowtop in the slee tray.
Regarding Ironman charger….it was listed as new a few...
Here’s a list of things I’ve done over the week:
Installed Slee 2nd battery tray, capped of power steering reservoir, tightened clamps on power steering reservoir, installed Optima group 35 yellow top, wired Ironman 4x4 dc to dc charger w/ solar input, installed ARB compressor with swivel...
I went with the Falken AT3Ws and have had no issues with them on the sidewall strength. I think their P rated sidewalls are a little more durable than others. It’s one of the reasons they’re a heavier P rated tire.
I picked up the Ironman Foam Cell Pro Stage 2 kit today along with their DC to DC charger with solar and battery monitor today.
Everything was 25%, and I’ve been needing to finish up my 2nd battery install, so it made sense.
I won’t be able to install til October most likely. I’ll come...
Can attest the Michelins are fantastic on road. I took them off as soon as I got my Cruiser and put on Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Loved them on wet roads! Off road I never needed anything more.
I’m from South Louisiana so I can’t attest to the snow, but I’ve heard great things about them.
I...
This makes a lot of sense. And I already have the SBI12. So I’ll order the DC to DC, baddest ass group 35 battery and call it a day then? I can keep my factory lead acid battery and not worry about battery comparability?
Also, to @suprarx7nut ’s point, is the fuse size a concern? Can’t I...

Supranut says it ain’t smart. Which is what I thought I had read elsewhere.
Reading on interwebs I thought I had read the 02 was a dumb alternator.
So, you’re saying if I don’t get the DC to DC and just use the isolator, an AGM battery will charge just fine?
Sorry, I know it’s been asked before. I don’t know if I’ve forgotten how to search, but I’ve tried to get relevant info through search and I keep getting bad results.
I’ve got an 02 LC. I installed the SLEE 2nd battery tray and the single ArB compressor. I have the redarc isolator wiring...
Not sure on the price. The FCP kit was $1800.
Edit: the FCP kit includes the diff drop for 1800. Stage 2 kit with a coupon code.
Dobinsons does not for the same price. FCP seems to include more for the same price.
Yes, the FCPs are rebuildable.
