FREE Land Cruiser 70-series side mirrors

If still available I'll take them. I have friends in Calgary that could pickup to save the hassle of shipping. Mirrors on my BJ70 are cracked.

1985 BJ 70 Lift Kit - Original or Aftermarket?

I replaced my stock and extremely worn out suspension a year ago with the Old Man Emu kit. As mentioned that’s what it looks like you have. I’d leave it. No one makes aftermarket springs with <2” lift and finding originals to swap means 30+ year old parts. 31x10.5 are a good tire size for the...

BJ73 3B - Stuttering and stalling on start up, running fine once going.

If it's the original primer pump, I'd replace with an aftermarket Bosch one. Mine leaked, though the truck ran fine. They are like $40 and are a really easy swap.

    1985 BJ70 Body Mount Bushings

Check out Terrain Tamer - they sell aftermarket bushings for the BJ70 and I believe there are a few North American distributers. Bushings are on my todo list for my BJ70. 31/10.50

All of the Canadian BJ60's and BJ70's came with 3.7 gearing from the factory.

    31/10.50

Here's 2 more. The side view is loaded down with about 1000lbs of shingles. Really happy with the lift.

    31/10.50

Here's my BJ70 with OME lift and 31x10.5x15 tires. Not the best picture, and I think 33s would fill out the wheel wells a lot better, but I like how the 31s drive. I was worried about anything larger and stock (3.7) gearing.

    KZJ71 Build Thread

Really cool truck! I've been looking at those frontrunner racks for my BJ70. How high off the roof do they sit to the top of rack?

70-Series: What Did Toyota Get Wrong?

I think cost was a big reason they did not sell well in Canada. I read somewhere that in the mid/late 80's in you could get a BJ70 for something like $12-13k, while a CJ started at 7 or 8k. That's a huge difference!

What did you do on your 70 series today?

I went with the A/B combo, I followed the ARB guide. I was a little disappointed in the shocks, there isn't much extension in them at all, so we'll see how they hold up. I bought the springs locally as they would have been too heavy to ship, but got the rest of the kit from Cruiser Outfitters.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

My front is fairly level, but the rear passenger (right) is a bit higher. I haven't gotten too many kms on it yet so I am hoping it will settle.

What did you do on your 70 series today?

Been fairly busy on my BJ70. I replaced the stock 29" tires with 31x10.5 Yokohoma's, installed OME medium lift, new clutch, recored radiator, new water pump/hoses, tie/relay rods, removed the pin stripe (which oddly seem common on Canadian BJ70s, not sure if it was a dealer thing). Before and after:

Builds 1985 JDM 3B Engine Rebuild and Other Stories

I hope we get to see the UZ swap in a thread like this one! I would have guessed a 1HZ for the old school diesel + parts availability, but the v8 in the SWB will be a fun ride!

    Newly aquired LJ70 and BJ71

Many (or all?) of the '87 Canadian BJ70's have BJ71 in the VIN. Mine is like that and I have read about a few others as well. They all came with the NA 3b.

@bob1008 Any chance we can get the IH8MUD discount on the canadian site? Doesn't seem to work.

3b overheat damage results and question?

NLA from Engines Australia - I checked with them earlier this year. 4wheelauto have heads for pre-1985, I think this means small valves CruiserParts.net sell the large valve head "cast overseas and machined in usa" Both are in the $12-1300usd range.

3b overheat damage results and question?

There are some threads on here about the alibaba heads not fitting properly, i think most 3b's in BJ70's are the large valve versions - but i am not sure of this. Last i checked Engines Australia high nickel heads were no longer available. CruiserParts sells large valve chinese heads for...
