Looks like there is a major error in the FSM diagram I posted - the starter battery does NOT connect to chassis ground, it only connects to ground via the 12/24 relay.
When the relay is off, LH- is connected to chassis.
When the relay is on, LH- is connected to RH+, thus putting them in series...

I got an alignment done, but no change on the steering stiffness. The truck came with lift and radius arm drop brackets...
I had to do a pretty significant adjustment to the drag link length to competent for the plate and the lift, probably an extra 10-12 mm, to center the steering wheel again.
I will do the flush tonight and report back

I also just added some fresh atf to top it off to the highest “cold” level and noticed a marked improvement in steer boost. Going to flush the system tomorrow with hydraulic oil, hopefully...
So I am having more steering problems after installing new shocks, springs, adjustable panhard, Dobinson adjustable steering damper, and a steering box frame reinforcement kit (I moved the steering box aside but didn't disconnect it when I installed the kit).

I have an RHD and I rotated the bar towards the back, which lengthened the rod and turned the wheel left (which makes sense, since lengthening the rod pushes put the left wheel, and which of course drags the right one with it)
I already have drop brackets for the radius arms, so my caster shouldn't be _that_ bad (although somewhat off of course), and I centered the axle to the body with the adjustable panhard
