I've determined that the carb numbers mean nothing to me and the differences found in the linkage is the culprit. I'm guessing the reason someone gave me my spare carb was because they boogerd up the linkage. So by me rebuilding it had no effect.
In the mean time I'm going to see if I...
I have an '82 22r with a carb that was having a problem. Being that I need punishment I decided to rebuild a carb that I've had waiting for years. Visually the same carb and the rebuild went way easier than I had expected. This weekend I exchanged the carbs and now the truck has a higher than...
First thing in the morning and no coffee so please excuse the harshness.
Two of my dogs I got from people just like you. They thought it was gonna be so perfect with a beautiful working dog puppy and just couldn't handle the energy and destruction that followed. I find it really sad. I promise...
There's other folks that know more than I but the only battery I'd put inside the cab AND on its side is an Optima. If you want another battery why not use some empty space under the bad?
I own a stock '82 SR5 4x4 and have had no problems.
The worse its been has been this past year getting it smogged. I went ahead and replaced the entire exhaust with a CARB compliant one and rebuilt my spare carburetor. The exhaust replacement I did to be finally legal but a new cat would have...
Ya know, I never leashed my Heeler. Maybe that was "back in the day" but I told folks leashes were for their undisciplined dogs 'cause mine was no problem.
Loved that dog.

Has anyone tried an electric fence hot wire, used for cattle, as a perimeter guard to keep bears and critters out of the expensive fridge/freezer? Seems I've read about the idea before but has anyone field tested it?
I'm thinking about treating myself to an ARB but have nightmares about...
Sounds good as long as your prepared. I've always kept two vehicles in case one broke. And Ive sold good trucks for bad trucks but I'll never do that again.
Well,
After being floored bu the idea of possibly having to pay a lot of money for some simple operating parts, the Napa Guy referred me to a mechanic in the area that had a smog machine and could give a pretest and wrench on it if need be. Damn! I wish this had happened sooner! Sometimes I...
Pappy,
I believe it's the modulator and BVSV that's discontinued.
I went to Napa for price and availability and I believe the valve was $250ish. If I were able to get all three I seem to remember the over three bills range. I'm having a hard time recalling because I was getting up off the floor.
I went to the dealer on the way home to purchase those "three bits" and two outa three are discontinued. I believe it was the modulator that there was one of in 'Frisco. Guess I'm gonna go to the next town and check with Autozone.
What the hell is NOx?
I just Googled NOx and I would think the cat converter would take care of it but I don't know sh$t. All this is new to me. Never had to learn about it before.
Thanks Pappy for your help again.
Is this a replace only item or is there something that I can take apart and fix?
I didn't want to lead the question originally but do you think it could be a small vacuum leak that the starting fluid isn't detecting? It's all guess work now(?) but a...
