Had this issue with a different vehicle. It turned to be a failing connection to the main fuse. Cleaned it up, replaced fuse (and ground cable for no good reason), good to go.
In the last 3 weeks
R&R Steering rack and outer rods
Repacked front bearings
New Rotors, pads and shoes all around
Front and rear diff fluid
Xfer case fluids
Drive shaft lubrication
Alignment
The factory calls for the VGRS. That's the only difference. Installation should be the same. Don't know if it will throw any codes. The LX has a VGRS warning light.
I am working on my 2003 LX470 to get her refreshed and ready for some minor mods and a lot more use.

Thanks, I saw that list. I do most work, but don't want to tackle the exhaust manifolds and leave the DD out while I did. Was also hoping for some subjective feedback on local mechanics.
Hello!
I have a 100 series LX that needs the exhaust manifolds replaced. I purchased some DT headers and need them installed.
Can any of you locals recommend a shop? I have an estimate from Toyomasters, but would like to get additional recommendations and quotes.
Thanks in advance!
Camelback Toyota has the OEM Gaskets, studs and nuts. The consensus is to avoid the gasket they send you.
I won't pay that kind of money to install them on my LX. So I gotta get the knuckles bloody.
Late to the replies...now on my 5th set of BFG's and 3rd vehicle. The K02's are quiet, smooth riding tires. Excellent wet performance, great on dry pavement and excellent short of anything really muddy. They won't clear thick mud fast enough if you're looking to go muddin'...I use the hell out...
You can check out the factory service history by registering at the toyota owners site and adding the VIN. Also, if you have an ebay account you can "sell" the vehicle at no cost to view the equivalent of a Carfax. That price seems a bit high. But I am in NM too...
