Cheers guys
Tank I'm out on a small island near Australia so postage will likely be cost prohibitive. good to know that these bits are still out there though
Apologies to bump this thread but I want to go the other way with my 3F engined FJ73
I have an abundance of 1FZ-FE 80 series out here but for a simple conversion want to put in a carb version of the 1fz
Im thinking of using everything bar the head from an FE and sourcing a head and carb. Any...
Right I've greased the u joints and I've still got noise. I actually think it maybe from the transfer case! I have drained the oil and the oil which was in there was nice and clean and no metal shavings on the drain plug.
I get a noise when I am in 4wd high and cruising though it is quite faint...
Ah is the yoke on the end of the prop shaft I can see it has a nipple for greasing maybe I just need to grease that. I hope I got bogged in bad send and it made pretty bad noise hope I haven't CF'd it and done then splines. Is 75 front prop shaft the same as 73?
Thanks for you reply mate. I had the cruiser for 6 months and no problem with front diff till I bent the housing. Since it's been replaced I got the issue. The diff was out for a little while so maybe it just needs regressing?
Can I regresase this in situ?
Remove the front prop shaft, undo the...
evening guys, I'm getting a bad grinding noise from the front of my fj73 Only happens in 4wd when I go above 50kph and let of the accelerator. I've done a bit of research and it suggests it could be the pinion bearing. But I've unbolted the front prop shaft and given the flange a wiggle and...
Got it fixed. My problem was that new alternator was internally regulated. So at the external regulator plug I used an old regulator plug and joined the 6 wires together to make 3 pairs. One for charge light, one for ignition and one for battery. It now works.
i picked up a 1990 ln106r with the 3l 2.8 Diesel engine and I've been working my way through sorting out some issues. Anyway I'm stumped on it not charging. I've replaced the alternator, the external regulator and the battery and still the thing won't charge. Dashboard all lit up too. I popped...
I fitted some of those seats, did your base plate mount up ok? The 73 has uneven mounting points unlike the 75 so I had to use some box section on the side closest the door to make the seat level.
Dash looks great!
What is this 80 series brake upgrade, does it all bolt up without modification. Are there any benefits from changing to 80 series calipers too and likewise will they bolt up to 70 series hubs?
My brake pedal keeps going to the floor, can bleed fine with engine off but soon as it's started pedal...
I wanted to do this the other way and was told i couldn't :(
I think they have different sized splines or something to do with the inner axles. So you either have to go full 9.5" or full 8"
I just fitted a set to a mates truck. His spot lights came as part of a kit with wiring which replaced the existing headlamp wiring / connector plugs. The new spot light wiring piggy backed on that. Super easy to install.
