The spartan I just installed has around a thousand mile on it. Quality looks good. It does ratchet on asphalt, it supposed to, I have yet to hear it on dirt.
I have a pistol grip JD gun myself. What gets the most use though is the 12v Milwaukee.
As for the "spring splat" just make sure the open end of the tube is touching something, much more controllable. once you get a little grease out of the tube it would be very hard to lose the the grease.
This is the correct answer. You do have a grease gun, right? For when I did mine, nearly one tube went in the birf axle hole, before the axle was installed. All the rest was pushed into the side of the axle housing, all using my grease gun tube.
Had not happened to me for a few days, then last night it started happening again. Then I get a message error# 268d3 and everything went in lock down, computer talked to me til I pulled the battery. This is the only site I have ever had that happen. Any chance the problem is an adware/malware...
Comparably how much better is the v8 tbi vs stock. Power and fuel consumption. I cant afford an ls swap, but the tbi trucks are a dime a dozen right now. Even if the mpg was the same more power would be ok.
If you love your 80, don't do it. I could not imagine pulling a trailer that far in some of the cross winds you will undoubtedly experience. Hill's not mountains will make to rethink your decision. Be safe.
When I got done removing mine most of that mess disappeared with it. There was a couple of wires at the key switch that had to have some extra attention but otherwise it was straight forward.
