Yeah I'm aware and have been checking that. I found some private sales around 80k miles where the seller claims to have the services completed.
Once I land my job/relocation switch I'm going to be getting serious.
Yeah, I was looking at that one the other day. Was shooting for one a little less than 100k mi.
Well that's excellent news. I'm not up there yet, but in the process of looking for a switch to get up there when I can.
That's what I was thinking as well. It's not surprising that you get more HP with the higher octane. However, I haven't seen a lot of people complain about knock or lag of power by the VVT compensating for the lower octane. I wonder if you could do an ECU tune to run regular.
Right I know it's supposed to share the same engine, but I don't recall if they had VVT. Different tuning can create different fuel demands.
Have you driven a long time like that?
I'm in the market for a GX470 and ran across a note mentioning the engine requiring premium. Does the GX470 really take premium fuel? Does anyone strictly run regular?
I don't disagree that it's a sweet GX, but 85k is a chunk of change.
Shoot your truck is the reason I still consider KDSS as a daily/adventure rig. I just have to stay more towards the practical/impractical line.

I may have missed it, but did you say what year yours was? Curious if you have VVT since it could complicate swapping the headers.
You mentioned a power and economy boost of 1.5-2 mpg, was this with just the headers or after the intake, headers, exhaust?
