The local Toyota dealer I like to use hasn't been able to keep an FJ in stock so I broke down and went to the "big" Toyota dealership (where you get treated like cattle) to get a test drive. I was both impressed and disappointed at the same time.
What impressed me was how well the on-road...
I'm looking for some initial opinions. I did a search and found a few threads that helped a bit, but thought I might get some more help a bit more on point.
I've just started thinking about picking up an FJ Cruiser. My main concern is how these vehicles are handling "on-road", ride-quality...
For sale - 1997 Lexus LX 450 Factory Repair Manual. Basically brand new. Has a little bit of brake dust on a few pages, but that just gives it character. :) $50 shipped.
Some SCCA, mostly DE's and lapping days for fun though. I've been an SCCA region officer for years though. SCCA can be fun, but they really have too many rules and restrictions for everything (insurance purposes).

Probably so eventually. I really wanted a 40th anniversary Cruiser when I bought the Lexus originally. Maybe next time around I'll be able to find a 40th I like.

Damn, I was hoping no one would ask that question. I'm the ultimate sell out, I made the mistake of driving a new Porsche Cayenne (non-turbo) and bought it. Probably $hit off-road, but I really have not been going there anyway. The darn thing handles like a sports car, carries all my stuff to...
I sold my LX450 this week to a local guy and purchased a replacement vehicle. I just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks to the group. It's a great forum with a ton of information that I've utilized heavily over the past couple years.
A special thanks to C-Dan for helping me out with...
In *theory* it should be the gauge that is the issue. I have "linearized" the OEM gauge on my track car. You should be able to do it with the LC gauge as well if you want to dig into it. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which resistors to use. Someone I know did all the experimenting for me...
They are the #17 color. Pics can be seen here:

I made the mistake of sticking them in the washing machine. On of the covers apparantly got caught against the agitator and now has a mark on it. The mark can clearly be seen in the last picture. In addition, one...
Doh! Didn't realize it was not recommended by Toyota. I tow with a weight distribution hitch a half dozen times a year or so. I've never had any issues and the truck tows fantastic with the hitch (though the load isn't too bad at about 4,000 lbs). Anyone have any idea why Toyota recommends...
Turbocruiser,
Sounds like you might have fun adding an aftermarket coolant gauge to your rig. I think you may be surprised. The OEM gauge is not linear and has a big "dead spot" in it when the truck is operating in a "safe range". But its fairly large range. If the gauge moves out of that...
Turbocruiser,
The physics of the thing work a little like this. When comparing a brass /copper rad to an aluminum you need to look at the construction of the core and the fin spacing. Typically a brass rad has small tubes, like 1/4" to 1/8" that the water flows through while an aluminum rad...
I have a pair of tan Wet Okole seat covers for an 80-series. These have been used to cover worn leather in a 1997 LX450 for about 6 months. I've decided to replace the leather going forward. They are in very good condition. I paid $250+ for them last year, will sell for $125 including...
Let's see:
1) It's a kit, an Aquamist 1s. It normally sells for approx $500. I can get you links to some vendors and info on it if you want it.
2) Mine is set-up to spray at about 4.5psi of boost (the setting is variable to whatever you want). That's it's only trigger. Aquamist makes...
These are not the best pics, but:

I use distilled water only in the summer months and distilled water with a 10-15% methanol mix in the winter. The injection is pre-blower.
As far as mtycruiser's suggestion of 2 tanks, I could do that, but...
