Looking for the part number for the two bolts on the front tow hook.
I can find the tow hook part number, but none of the parts diagrams I'm seeing include hardware.
Thanks for the help
Thanks for the info.
My problem is I gave up my "original" when I replaced it for a Napa unit. The Napa unit was faulty (and has regulator at 10:00). They'll replace it, but it just doesn't seem to be the correct one, and they don't produce/carry the 55 amp 2:00 alternator. The guy also...
Ordered this alternator from Rock Auto. It should be a 55amp with an internal regulator at 2:00. However, what I received (pictured on the left below) doesn't seem to have an internal regulator, at least not in the way I'm used to seeing them. The part number listed on the alternator is what I...
I have not checking timing, but timing was set prior to overheating and it was running well until that. All I have done is replace the water pump and alternator. So unless one of those things messes with timing, I don't see why timing would be off now.
Took a drive this morning. It idles fine...
FCS is functioning properly, and there is continuity in the switch when engine is off.
Now at a consistent point where it will not idle. Not sure what to check next.
Also, my choke cable get's stuck in the pulled position. it's like the cable isn't slipping through the line smoothly.
Thanks OSS
I went back out yesterday and it won't hold idle again.
Is your suggestion to test the Fuel Cut solenoid related to the idle and dieseling issues?
UPDATE: with just letting it sit, it's now idling.
Coolant temp is still getting up there while cruising around town, stop and go. It went up as high as 80-90% to the red while idling in front of the house after driving. I shut it down and it's still dieseling.
After an extensive rebuild of most things in the engine bay: head, carb, IM, P/S, A/C, cooling system, etc. I am still in the first 500-1000 miles or so of shakedown from having everything reassembled.
Two weeks ago I made it about 65 miles on a 100 mile trip before overheating. I was cruising...
Would like a clean and operable unit that won't require any machining or honing. Does not have to be a complete unit, I really only need the main housing.
I have an 84 with the rectangular bolt pattern. I believe the switch to the later bolt pattern happened in 85.
I am located in southern...
Ok- Continuing to mess with the adjuster screws on the carb.
I can now get it to "start" (ish) without the choke, but with throttle instead. And I am not reaching around 500 rpms, but with throttle held down.
I am getting these loud screech pops. See video below.
Note: air cleaner is not on...
thanks for the info Gretsch. I’ll be getting back to it shortly.
I do have an FSM, and have done a bit of reading, but admittedly a lot of the carb stuff swings right over my head. I will continue to read more.
Mark of Marks off-road in Burbank rebuilt it.
When I hard wired the ICS, I heard...
Both the front and back adjusters were put all the way in, then backed out 2-3 turns, both pressing the metal against it.
Apologies for the novice questions. I have been working on FI engines for nearly 20 years, but this is my first endeavor into the carb world.
Appreciate your help big...
I pulled the #1 spark plug out and it smelled of fuel which leads me to believe it's no longer a fuel issue?
Choke is pulled, that's the only way to make it barely sputter start. Doesn't even do that without the choke pulled.
I'm not sure about the charge light. The battery was out of the car...
