My first step from stock was OME 2721 progressive rear springs. I had and still have OME BP-51 set up front and rear. I had my front set at the highest preload with TJM front bumper and stock rear. This resulted in pretty level unloaded but saggy when loaded for bear. I could have lowered...
Dissent is the same way. It’s really just because the metric hardware, especially in SA and high strength is harder to source and more expensive. Not impossible though. It is annoying having a mix on single vehicle. I think most of us would pay more for metric hardware but these guys sell to...
Was reading the Amazon adds for some of theses and there are plenty of Chinese counterfeit tells in the product descriptions. My favorite is this:
American Africa and European Australia. Not sure what Asia is.
Man there are a lot of these things on Amazon. They range in price from $100 to $1000. Different models but also same model with different pricing. I assume that some of these are likely fakes as I don't even see some of these model numbers on the actual Launchtech web site. I'm not...
A beautiful Sunday evening here in KC and I’m two bourbons in, relaxing on the patio, fire pit going and thinking philosophically about my build. Usually I hit my philosophical peak at about 4 bourbons but I have to work in the morning so it’s two for tonight.
I had a good day today. Spent...
Finished up the rear bumper swing arms and adjusted the overall bumper position a bit. I also swapped out the old grade 8 thin washers for double thick ones. The thin ones had deformed even doubled up. Still doubled up with one thick and one thin.
I went to put the inner fender on the...
Installed rear bumper and swingouts (mostly). Need to finish wiring harness for lights (ugh, hate wiring which is why I keep putting it off). Also need to build new accessory tray for my Roam Box as the old one was destroyed in the wreck.
As a note to self next time I pull it off, the plug...
Yes. There are several aftermarket metal caps like the one you found. There is also a Toyota OEM metal oil filter cap for the Tacoma that fits LCs (you have to swap the center tube as the LCs tube is longer).

From there, you can use a drain tool

29,700 lb vs. 12,000 minimum breaking strength (Superline vs. Warn Spydura):
The superline weave is a lot tighter and feels like much higher quality. The end loops are a lot bigger too. It’s also $315 vs $189 for a 50’ extension. While the 12,000 lb MBS of the Warn Spydura is probably ok...
I’ve put off taking the test for way too long. Justifying it by telling myself I didn’t have time to study and it wasn’t worth the effort when I only use a ham radio twice a year at a couple events.
The Ham Study app makes this very easy if you just focus on passing the test as the objective...
Hey @Artie and @radman can you send me or post a few pics of the FF snorkel and Dissent RR? Especially from the side. I'm getting back to this but haven't installed my snorkel or the RR yet on my new rig. I think I've convinced myself that the 270 XT Max can go on the passenger side and won't...
Look at what UPS delivered today!
A couple weeks ago I called MasterPull to ask some questions on ratings and differences between there Superline and SuperlinXD winch lines. Emil Bjornsson answered the phone. He happens to be the CEO of MasterPull. He didn't identify himself that way and I...
^^^This. I did this my first LCDC and I’m very glad I did. The radio is awesome. While I have the car charger, I’ve never used it. The battery will last for days, especially in “listening” service on trails.
I have a Dissent rear and the rubber grommets they use for it are smaller. I think the hole size is 3/4” You just need to pull one and measure the diameter of the hole. The ones I bought are for 1” holes.
