Bump!
Found a photo of the time we setup the annex (without the floor extension). The annex is a great setup for families or large-dog owners as it makes for more enclosed sleeping space.
Decided to upgrade to an Alu-Cab soon. Less than 1 year old Gordigear Explorer Plus that comes with extensions for the ladder and annex as well as the annex itself all in great and clean condition. This is the Cadillac of soft-top Rooftop Tents with waterproofing impregnated into the canvas and...
I second the Mfab FJ60 but it's a ton of work to get an FDM printed multi-part model finished. Speak to Tim Bloore @ VS Customs 1/10 Scale Accessories as he has built some of these bodies for people that don't have the time/skills.
Yup toy-grade. HOWEVER myself and my buddies that are into building rc trucks will remove a detailed body just like this one and mount it on an appropriate hobby-grade RC. Very much a doable thing.

If I already had an Alu-Cab, the two are too close to consider changing I agree. In my position, the Alpha just slightly wins out in the features department and comes in slightly cheaper too.
Just when I thought I had decided on the Gen 3, I found the Bush Company Alpha tent. Now I can't decide. I really like the awning of the Alpha. I know Alu-Cab makes the side awnings but they aren't available in the US to my knowledge and that adds cost. Anyone in the same boat?
The Husqvarna 26" is hard to beat for the value. I have a few Hults Bruk and Granfors hatchets too. All are trustworthy tools that I will last beyond a lifetime. I like to try different axes and will also be buying a Hardcore Hammers Super Naturalist Hatchet soon.
Something I didn't factor before ordering was how loud the inflatable pillows are when moving around at night. The plastic crinkles and woke myself and my wife up during the night.
I chose a Gordigear Explorer RTT for the 4" mattress and other factors. It turns out it doesn't matter how many inches of crappy stiff foam you stack up, it doesn't make for a better sleeping experience. Just picked up an Exped Megamat and it's the most comfortable I've been in a bed outside...
Neat! I must confess I got one of the ceiling net alternatives and I'm very unhappy with how it droops into my rear-view vision even when unloaded (or what's left of it). I'll definitely be getting a rack and gullwings in the future.
