Hey Greek Cruiserhead - Thanks, I located the rear engine mount. It was indeed right under the gearbox assembly;
it was easy to see it from under the car.
Hi - I wonder if the separator which is next to the gas tank could have anything to do
with the dieael fuel not flowing properly. I think your car has one although I don't know
the exact part number for your car.
Could the disconnected oil pressure switch wire connector at the EDIC be shorted to ground?
If so, the engine will shut itself off after a few seconds.
"once installed I took the vaccum pipe off from alternator side and put my finger on and there isn’t the slightest bit of vaccum."
I assume you were testing with the engine running.
If you get no suction under these conditions, your vacuum pump is not working.
I believe you can achieve similar results by changing the final gear ratios of both the front
and rear differentials. For example, if the original final gear ratio was 4.1, go to 3.7.
Hi - I think I've read all the threads about taking off window glass on FJ40s;
I tried the suggestions on the rear corner window but I'm still not able to take it out.
How much force can you apply to the glass from the inside to push it out ?
Thanks.
Thanks for suggesting the dot 5 silicone fluid. Sounds like a good idea.
Did changing to dot 5 cause any damage to the rubber seals? How did you clean
the parts (master, slave, steel line) that were coated with dot 3 fluid?
What is the recommended fluid change cycle for dot 5 fluid?
Hi - I replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders on my bj44;
flushed and replaced clutch fluid three times. After a while (few months), the
fluid in the master cylinder gets dark. Is this an indication that I should
replace the steel clutch line(s) also?
Thanks.
I would take out all the different components of the AC system and check for leaks under vacuum/pressure.
The compressor may still be OK. Flexible AC lines can be used instead of the steel pipes.
Be thorough and patient; it will pay off for a long time.
