    Cooper Discoverer STT's

Any comparisons that may help me? I didnt read every single message on this blog but I am curious if anyone has switched from a 37" toyo M/T's to the Coopers or Visa versa and if so what are your thoughts on off road traction on dirt, rocks, mud, snow, as well as durability. I know the smaller...

    Tranny Questions ( '94 FZJ80 )

I agree with Brian. I would run some "Marine clean" or another highly recommended product through the tranny. Then after putting a few miles on it completely flush and re-fill the tranny with new fluid. It may not fix the problem, but it certainly wont hurt.

    Front and Rear Diff Fluid

After you flush out the diffs with some conventional oil I would reccomend Red Line 75-140w if you plan to abuse it off road because if definitely offers more shock protection for your gears. Royal Purple, Mobil One and Amsoil also make a great gear lube that will protect your diffs better than...

    Cooper Discoverer STT's

The school of thought that I've heard behind wheel size has to do with how much sidewall you have for flexing over rocks and other obstacles when off road. 10" or more of sidewall is supposed to "ideal" although I'm not sure who decided this? lol So if you run a 17" rim then ideally you should...

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

Absolutely. My older brother installed an 8" sub behind the plastic where the factory sub is and it sounds real nice. My younger brother installed a 10" sub in his 80 and since I built the enclosure for him and tested it out I know the sub sounded very good with real deep low's but he felt the...

    Costco wireless rearview camera install

I do want to have multiple cameras for rock crawling and such but am trying to figure out the most cost effective way to go and integrate the screen and controls into the truck to keep it user friendly. I also want to use cameras that are water resistant or water proof for the underside of my...

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

There's a couple of ways to do it You can pull out the factory amp completely out and take the wires that were going to the amp and get a high level/low level converter and connect it to your new sub amp or you can keep the factory amplifier and use the high level inputs from the factory sub amp...

    Not Warn or MileMarker....

That does seem like a good deal, but 3.8 hp seems a little weak? Isnt the warn using a 6.1 hp motor?

    Marlin steering upgrade

Yeah I agree, I told them the same thing when I spoke to Steve the other day. I did both rods at the same time since I didnt want to chance bending the front one like I did the rear (it was so messed up!)

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

Yes, I agree with that 100%. You must have an enclosure, that's prolly one of the reasons the factory sub sounds so horrible.

    Not Warn or MileMarker....

Yeah I had a Harbor Frieght winch and I didnt like it. It was super slow and loud as hell. It always sounded like it was about to explode! It did get me out of some sticky situations but I would never buy one again. And I know our Costco has a decent looking winch, I think it is the Champion...

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

Yeah, you just need an amp that has high level inputs on it (which I think most do).

Leather front seat replacement group buy

Good question. My guess would be that the plug is prolly different but I havent compared them so I dont know for sure. The LS 400 seats have heaters so I would imagine there must be at least a couple extra wires for that feature.

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

I havent seen one, but it would be easy to build a simple sealed enclosure for a shallow mount 8" sub and mount it behind the plastic. My brother is very happy with the way his sounds and he's just running it through his stock system (with an upgraded amp on his sub). 10" subs pose more of a...

    Marlin steering upgrade

Hey Eric, that's too funny that you just did that upgrade too. It was more of a pain in the arse than I thought (just the disassembly). But I am pretty sure the new rods are bullet proof. And the guys at Marlin are awesome! Best customer service I've ever recieved from any mail order vendor...

    driver's seat replacement

I was told the Lexus LS 400 seats would be a fairly easy swap. My Lexus seats have built in suspension and are heated (as well as being more comfy). I was thinking about doing the swap but if you find out it's as easy as I've heard and want them just let me know and I may sell them. Otherwise...

What is This - Rear Speaker Thing

I removed my factory sub and amp when I decided to build my own sub enclosure for a 10" woofer and my system sounded better by just taking it out! lol Seriously though it actually did. If you wanted to keep things simple and not have to mess with buying an amp to power a big sub just buy an...

    Leaded Gas, no cats?

Do the cats really rob a lot of power? I have a 3" high flow cat that I bought for a race car that I wanted to keep street leagal but I never used it. Does anyone know if I replace both my (side by side) stock cats with the one 3" high flow and go with a new 3" cat back exhaust that it will...

Maybe I don't need to change the differential oil?

It does sound like the diff oil is in good shape but it's not a bad idea to throw some Redline gear oil in there and you'll prolly never have to change it again. Plus as a side benefit it offers more shock protection for off road use.
