happy to report the LC was sold and want to give congrats to the new owner, you got a hell of a lot of truck for your money. I am sorry to see my old friend go down the road but I am very happy with my taco trd...and a special thanks to Georg at Valley Hybrids for all the work he put into the...
Let me add: this past summer had the AC system gone through: new compressor (not reman...new), dashboard torn down to remove and completely clean the canister (I think it holds the AC core) which was completely clogged with junk from 30 years of use, replaced custom hoses that were beginning to...
Let me add a couple things if I may (whilst I reveal myself as the mystery owner):
one thing not apparent is the entire vehicle has been sound dampened with damplifier and in fact if you check out the fj60 forum of some years ago you will see I did a "how to" on it. I even dampened the hood...
wow that is a super cruiser, i love all those aussie things like the barndoor and wind wings, and youre doing a super job of sorting it out too what with that holden (but how did a new holden motor need replacing so recently? i thought they would run for a million miles!) and that is certainly...
if you are registered out of cali and you are parked on urban streets, sooner or later you are going to get an out of state registration ticket. probably sooner than later. in case you havent heard, cali is in the midst of a financial crisis and everyone is looking for revenue. car parked...
i cant believe people are standing around acting like coasting, regularly especially, down hills in neutral is even some kind of acceptable driving technique. it is not. it is out of control and in fact is probably illegal in most states (it is for sure in california). and it doesnt do anything...
heres something to keep in mind, me and several other 60 owners have had mysterious "starter issues", usually involving starting fine one time, next not, wait 10 minutes and try again, works, etc.
several starters later, same problems.
strange as it may seem (and it seemed strange to me)...
i know this aint gonna make many friends around here but has it occurred to anyone else that the rubicon trail is being loved to death? i mean they closed spider lake because of human sh*t contamination and now they are liable to close the whole place. think about it: toilet paper all over the...
oh one more thing, is it just me (i doubt it) or is that lippencott trail way overrated? ive gone up and down it maybe 3 times round trip, and its never very challenging. does it get its rating for "full size" trucks or something? as you know it *is* a little narrow but nothing to get worried...
dude...did i pass you coming out of striped butte valley, i was in my silver lifted fj60?
there were a number of tlcs around when i was there a few weeks ago. it was windy too down in the valley with big dust storms but up in the canyons off west side road it was real nice.
very nice...
i have ram horn manifolds on my 60 too and they work well. but they get hot, esp whatever that steel tube is that connects the exhaust ports and gets red hot, not quite literally but almost. i am pretty sure thats a smog control deal and might not be necessary in your state.
i have heard...
those photos are just fantastic! i would love to visit south africa, ive heard its incredibly beautiful, like those photos attest to. thanks a million for posting those.

>FJ60 Emmission Stuff
i had all this, and i mean all of it including carb, manifolds, all valves etc, all off a smog legal motor, for the longest time and i couldnt hardly give it away. i did, though, give it away. best of luck, best to find someone who has done a SBC swap like i had.
one...
yeah now that you mention it maybe the bug factor because i do like air flow too, but i guess we just sleep differently because i seem to have more room in the back of my 60 than i do in my tent! i just thought originally this thread was about a rack top tent and when i saw those pics i couldnt...
i am in need of a rear bumper in excellent condition (eg: no dents but a small ding or two would probably be ok) for my 85 fj60. if anyones got one please to bring it!
i doubt i will be there at 8am but will endeavor to be there by 10am!
many thanks in advance

maybe im just incredibly dense or something...but what is the use of that thing? it covers the windows and provides some overhang for the rear tailgate? or is it that it expands the usable inside space by being able to enclose the tailgate? surely you still have to have the rear seat folded...
if it was me and i could get a genuine toyota factory windshield in a junk car, without stars or cracks or anything, i would way prefer it over a replacement, even oem. for originality sake if nothing else, but i have a feeling an original would fit and look better than aftermarket every time...
