Yeh that’s exactly what they did. Didn’t take them long at all. A $15 seal with $250 of labor is better than a $15 seal with $1200 of labor. I was stoked the t-case didn’t have to come apart..
All good now. 👍🏼
Thanks for reply. I actually did exactly what you mentioned. Cleaned everything up, drove it a bit more, then it was evident that the oil was coming out of front output shaft seal. Took it down to the local ‘Yota shop who put a new seal in for about $300. 👍🏼
Hi All,
2010 LX570. Finished a 1500 mile on/off-road trip a few weeks ago. For the past week I've noticed the transfer case is dropping one or two drops of oil on the garage epoxy every few days. Took a look today and wanted to get your thoughts.
The oil is of course dripping off the bottom of...
Not bad at all actually. You can barely tell a difference over stock street tires. We've been diligent with rotating them and they're still quiet after probably around 20000 miles on them now.
Yeah my opinion is that it's totally worth it. There are some cool trails out there and the ruins are unbelievable. Crazy how an area goes from boom to bust.
A day trip from SD is doable but aggressive if you want to go all the way around the "sea" because it's huge. You'd have to choose one...
Hey sorry I am a few months late. Actually just noticed this. Thanks for the compliment on the GX. The wheels are 20" matte black Black Rhino Traverse.... Tires are Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 285/50-20. I had very very slight rubbing on each front wheel liner at full turn that was easily fixed...
OP, if you're still deciding, I went through an almost exact fork in the road recently and, surprisingly, we decided to go with the GX460 over the LX570. Even though our GX is mainly driven by my wife I still wanted her SUV to be capable with good AT tires for most light/moderate trails so it...
Nice. We looked at 4runners too. Crazy how vehicle models grow over time. Today's 4runner is basically the size of an 80 series.
We love the 200 series but its size presented some inconveniences for us. We wanted our new SUV to have similar dimensions to our 80 which is the perfect size for...
You mean GX460 to GX470? I have a couple buddies with GX470's and the main difference right off the top is that the 470's have about 5" more distance between cargo floor and ceiling because they don't have the folding seats like the 460's do.
Most of the other dim's will be the same..
Thought I'd follow up on this post since we did end up getting a GX460. Here are the rear cargo area dimensions of the GX460 vs. FZJ80
Rear Cargo Opening Width
GX460 - 45.5"
FZJ80 - 51.5"
Rear Cargo Opening Height
GX460 - 35"
FZJ80 - 39"
Cargo Area Floor to Ceiling Height
GX460 - 36"
FZJ80 -...
I've had an 80 for a while, but new to the 150 section. We just sold our E63 AMG and picked this GX 460 up for my wife, then put wheels on it immediately. We love it. GX for light trails, road trips. LX 450 for heavier stuff and as my commuter.
I'm still getting used to the sideways gate on the...
Hey All. Need a couple odd dim's.
Boring back story:
We have a '97 FZJ80 already that's a little built up and fun. We also have a Great Dane who goes almost everywhere with us. Wife wants a newer, more shiny SUV so she can take the dog places when I have the 80. She doesn't want a 200 series...
So I checked every single suspension bar under the truck, as well as the seals. The rubber is a little broken down on the lateral control/panhard bar so maybe that's a place to start? (That thing seems it would be a b**ch to swap out.)
Everything else looks good. No grease leaking, seals...
