Are the FZJ locked and unlocked rear housings the same in other words will an E locker third member bolt into a non-locker housing without modifications.
They look the same. The only difference I can see without pulling both thirds is the E locker third member has two studs that are longer...

Spring or fall is best as it get hot there.
So after 3 years and countless hardcore wheeling trips on 39" tires my RCV both let go at the same time & both axles broke at the same place just inside the cage :confused:
The thing is that I was not even on a obstacle, there was no bouncing,hopping,shock load, nothing like that.

So I'm a big fan of the OEM lockers but over the 7 years of owner ship I have had a few issues with the rear locker. The problem seems to be water getting in the actuator.
This what I found the first time I looked into it the O-ring was bad so I assumed that's how the water was getting in...
