michigan group visiting nemo tunnel and windrock park

Yes, they do a pretty good job of marking trails but signs do tend to disappear every now and then. Best thing to do is buy a map at the general store or download the Windrock Park app. Heard good and bad from the app. Gaia GPS might have some public tracks uploaded. Cell service is spotty...

michigan group visiting nemo tunnel and windrock park

Brushy is definitely worth visiting. I’d plan a half day there and get someone to give you a tour. They used to have a few prisoners that spent time in Brushy but have since been relocated to the new prison down the road give tours. Dark stuff and fascinating at the same time. Barkley...

I’d love to see what you can offer. No huge rush really. I’m getting by but would love to have one and free up some space in the cargo area.

Thank you. I am trying to line one up in short order. Going on a toad trip and need that 35” tire out of the back! I really like the 4x4 labs but they are 16 weeks out. Unfortunately I think that will be the case with everyone. Going hard for a used one and I will check out the Dobinsons on...

    Overheating

This prompted me to give PO's maintenance records and receipts another look. Looks like I have a CSF 2517 bought in 2011. Must have overlooked it before. I'll let everyone know how this plays out. Hopefully this thread can add some value to someone making a similar decision in the future.

    Overheating

FWIW, I am positive my radiator is metal and not plastic. The mechanic said if it was any other radiator other than brass and metal, he would tell me to get a new one. I think his concern is the structural stability of aluminum and not the ability to cool. I definitely see the reasoning behind...

    Overheating

Well, ended up sending it to local Cruiser mechanic (thank you desmocruiser). He said the fan chipped and punched a hole in the radiator. Also said the clutch had some play in it . His recommendation was to take the radiator to a radiator shop and see if they think it is salvageable. Said that...

    Overheating

I am 99% sure it only leaks at pressure. I have let it idle and get to temp a few times while trying to track down the leak. Only time I saw coolant was last night when I decided to drive it again. This is when I saw traces of coolant on the air cleaner and a pool at the bottom of the radiator...

    Overheating

Temp gauge was just below red and it was obviously hot. I gave it some gas towards the end of the drive to see if it would cause it to heat up and it did. May not have technically overheated that time but it would have if driven longer. Pretty sure it overheated when the motor shut off on the...

    Overheating

No noises. I have heat as well which I thought would eliminate the chance of a bad water pump but I could be wrong. Fan clutch seems fine but will look into that a little more. Head gasket was replaced as well as all hoses from PO parts receipts about 140k and it has 180k on it now. None of the...

    Overheating

One day last week I drove about 60 miles to a trailhead and then drove about 15 miles of moderate trail (with a short section or two of steep crawling and one big creek crossing) to a property for work. Anyway, it was a fairly warm day and I wasn't easy on the truck. On my way back home on the...

    Trail Gear Bumper/Fairlead

I ended up taking the steel Warn fairlead I had to a machine shop and they cut enough off the top for it to fit.

    Trail Gear Bumper/Fairlead

All I see on the Trail Gear website is an aluminum fairlead. I’ll definitely check out what marlin crawler has to offer.

    Trail Gear Bumper/Fairlead

Installed a Trail Gear bumper the other day and had plans to use a Warn steel hawse fairlead I had laying around. The bolt holes line up but the fairlead is too tall. Wanting to keep my winch cable so I need a steel fairlead. Anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions on a steel fairlead I can...

    2016 Tacoma Rear Bumpers?

Thanks for this! I live in Maryville and work as a forester for a land company in the area. We bought a couple Tacomas recently and they are used off road daily. Love the 2016's so far but we were disappointed in the plastic bumper. Plus side is that they are a 3 piece. However, we were quoted...

    2016 Tacoma Rear Bumpers?

Anybody seen a build thread or anyone have ideas on custom bumpers? Mainly the rear. It is a 3 piece bumper and the chrome/plastic piece does not do too well when it drags across a creek bank!
