Water, Fuel Oil Pressure gauges stopped

Going to pull the ignition key and see if there is something going on back there with regard to the Blue Red wire. It just seem so strange that it said "I'm done". Truck still runs and the alt gauge is working. Aghhh, always something. Boaf

Water, Fuel Oil Pressure gauges stopped

Nope, the back of mine is with the Barrel connector. It was "frankensiened" from the PO.

Water, Fuel Oil Pressure gauges stopped

Thanks StediCruiser, Yes I have a multimeter. Just need to track the Red-blue for continuity and where it falls apart. @Coolerman , any thoughts on where to start? I'll pull the wiring diagrams from the Haynes book. I'll do some research, but what is the fuseible link by the battery? It...

Water, Fuel Oil Pressure gauges stopped

Update: Took a test light to the 12V Ignition port (Blue \ Red wire) and have no juice. Is there some sort of in-line fuse? The wiring on this truck is a Frankenstein (pronounced Frankunsteen) from the PO, I just never updated it. I will ask the dumb electrical question: If I take power from...

Fellow LCers, Been a while since I posted, things have been going well and enjoying the top down Florida weather. Came home from soccer the other nigh and next morning, no Fuel, Water or Oil Pressure gauges. Not sure what happened. Symptoms: I have Blinkers, radio, lights. It seems to be...

    Distributor Not Seating

Someone said use the BFH method and did not do that. The wood block just saved my hand from the Rotor shaft imprint (like the Raiders of the Lost Arc Medallion imprint.

    Distributor Not Seating

Here is a picture of my dizzy. you do need to squeeze that gap closed with some leverage. First pinch with pliers before putting the ring on the Dizzy. Then install as you normally do. Remove the cap and rotor (if not already done) and place a small Block of wood on top for leverage (get a...

    Distributor Not Seating

No not seated. The washer on the lock nut is under the ring. take out the washer, cut a piece off so it seats fully. if not, it will eventually leak and the shaft will wear early/ Just from experience. Bob

    Valve Train Oil Flow

Thanks gents. New my valve cover was not perfectly striaight, it never leaked because, of course there was no oil! Now it leaks but straightened it out and we are solid. Normally most people would be angry with an oil leak. But this was like a ray of sunshine on a piss poor day :). Boaf

    Valve Train Oil Flow

I see 4 holes until the oil pass hole. Then I see the bolt hole and a hole next to it in the gasket. Does the "correct gasket need to be an elongated hole? So sounds like I bought an f instead of a 2F head gasket. That would totally SUCK. fricken rookie mistake. All the holes matched up...

    Valve Train Oil Flow

Thanks Steamer. I think I am spot on. I have a head gasket picture above. Here it is again. I think you circled the correct Point on my head gasket. The valve train is set up to match the head with the oil pedestal. I can triple check and pull the valves. At this point, I am second...

    Valve Train Oil Flow

Fellow LCer's, Update. Removed the oil pan and found nothing out of the ordinary. Oil pipe was attached. See photos. Oil pipe is clear, as is the t fitting. I tried to see if there was any obstructions in the oil hole that goes to the top of the motor using a coat hanger but do not get very...

    Valve Train Oil Flow

So my theory, I replaced the head in the summer (with the incorrect head shipped to me from a vendor up north). Naturally, there was no where for the oil to go because no oil port in the head. The compression nut on the pipe may have got pissed off and disconnected, loose or something to that...

    Valve Train Oil Flow

3 minute run. Drove it 10 miles to my house, removed valve cover, dry! s***, drove it for 100 miles before I realized somethig was not right. What's 10 more. But damn, it runs smooth. Something from below must be wrong (oil feed tube leak or disconnect is my thought. Need to drop the pan...

    Valve Train Oil Flow

Finally have the right head. Installed, smooth as butter. But still no oil flow. So that confirms that the oil tube must not be connected. Any thoughts @brian? I am going to drive it 10 miles to my house and put it in the garage. I cannot lay on my back and change out a Oil pan gasket in a...
