    I forgot to mention one thing that’s relatively important. With the battery at 50%, enough juice to turn the engine over, it would stall the engine, even though I have the reverse switch unplugged can anybody make sense of this? Perhaps a short and the reverse wiring going back to the light?

    I noticed I would blow a fuse when I would put my 1973FJ40 into reverse. Fuel gauge, the temp gauge and the oil pressure gauge must all be on the same circuit. Only when I would put the stick shift into reverse. Clearly the reverse switch is bad right and sharing a fuse with said gauges?

    OK. I did cut the reverse light hole into the tub. The fuel cap definitely looks like 73 and later but my question. Did the frame and or body mount perches change after 73? My 71 is stock unmolested and this half tub would not sit on the frame mounts. Not even close and it was a hair long for...

    Sending unit pulsing power

    Trying to get the fuel gauge working on my ‘73. my test light shows the power pulsing going to the sending unit. there is no relay or reason I can think of that would cause this. Is it haunted?? As I turn on power, the light is solid for 5 seconds then pulses.

    Had my wire harness out, re-wrapped it and checked it thoroughly…. Visual only.. I am now hooking up the switches. Everything works great except my windshield wipers. Blows a fuse as fast as I can feed them into the fuse panel… I’ve hooked the motor into my other FJ 40 and it works fine...

    What am I looking at?

    This is the Speedo cable out of my ‘73. What sort of redundant s***tery is this??? The box was mounted on the firewall near heater blower. I should mention it came out of a ‘73 that had a 350 and auto trans in place. I’m hoping to install it on my all original ‘73.
