The OEM hitch attaches to the frame but the older integral hitch attaches to the bumper.

I use to get 17 on the highway and it dropped to 15 mpg when I switched tires. Which from what I hear is not that bad for a modified LC.
Even thought the pics don't show it the rig was built the same when I switched.

I went from 285/75/16 Revos AT to
305/70/16 mud tire and lost 2 mpg.
I think mud tread had more to do with the loss of mpg than the width.
Both tires weigh about the same.
