Fuel was coming into the frame rail from the EVAP overflow. I replaced the fuel cap and that helped a bit... But there's still a lot of pressure behind that cap when you stop for fuel. No more dripping fuel though. Going to dig into when I'm back in Washington.
The nest was on top of the...
Stopped again for gas after ~100 miles with new hat cap. Tank still released a lot of pressure when I unscrewed the new cap. Leak from EVAP does seem to have stopped though
99 lx470. Came across i40 this morning from OK into NM. Stopped at lotaburger for a breakfast burrito. Noticed a drip from the driver's front frame rail... Gas. Can hear a slight hiss/bubbling noise from the evap system. Opened gas cap and there was a noticable "whoosh." Could this be as simple...
I think the consensus is yes. 14 years later... I never did it. Sold that 80 and as far as I know the 1fz is still running just fine for the new owner.
I have begun to see JDM 100 series showing up in North America and it got me to dreaming about 105s. Yet to see one that wasn't custom built anywhere on this continent. Were 105s ever sold for the Japanese Domestic Market or only AUS and elsewhere? There are quite a few established importers...
That was a few years ago and I no longer own that truck, sadly. As I recall I cut the headliner away where you show a bolt going into the headliner material. I think there was a bracket that I had to mount beneath the headliner to mount the unit.
Noticed the common stutter under load the other day. Manifested when getting up to speed on the highway. The rig was desmogged by the PO and the vacuum lines look new. Wondering if any gurus can spot an easy fix or suggest places to start my search. Maybe I'll start with the screwdriver?
Some...
Thanks for all the info. Order the clips and a set of bearing kits. Figure it's time for both no matter what. Checked maintenance records and I replaced the axles about 20k ago. So. Probable that the bearings aren't very old but at the very least the driver's side needs to be opened up. If it's...
Thanks. I read the thread(s) you linked and was being facetious regarding the groove. Ordered the snap ring kit (and some hoses I've been needing for the 60). The shop was not an LC or Toyota specific shop, rather a local shop down the hill that I can walk to. I have the FSM and have done some...
After a camping trip over some rough roads I noticed a noise coming from my driver's side front wheel. Thought I had a rock stuck in the brakes as the sound only seemed to present when turning and it sorta "scraped." Pulled the wheel and no rock but the grease cover was loose and essentially...
Thanks for the tips. Oh, it's started leaking already. I thought it was just from the multiple cracks throughout the glass. I'll give Car Tech a call. The current glass is aftermarket. Also need to have the wheel arches on the 60 cut out and replaced so maybe I'll see about that while I'm at it.
Decided to replace my cracked windshield. Safelite came out but the tech left after cracking the glass a bit more. Said it was too rusty to install new glass. Have an appointment in 11 days for an estimate at an autobody shop. Any suggestions for a place to fix this in the Seattle area?
Well... I got the halo lights figured out and soldered the old bulb housing to the new lights. Works!
Got everything put back together and I think it looks pretty good.
Went to install the passenger side and... broken tab in the box. No damage to the box so it must have been this way from the...
This thread is helpful. I tested the fog light with the original bulb and they are functional. Trying to build some pigtails to connect to the eagle eye halo lights using the stock plug.
