Thanks so much for the response fellas. I am hoping I can join in time. If not, I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for the next one. Is there a facebook group or anything that's easier to keep track of updates and rides? Mud isn't the easiest place for notifications.
Hey Guys - I am new to this local STLCA group but i've been lurking on the mud forum for quite some time. Owned the 80 since we bought it off the lot at Rivergate Toyota in 97. It's been a daily driver for 25 years now and I have recently ventured into the world off wanting to convert it to part...
Found this thread in a search. I'm also local to Nashville and would be down for meeting up in the New Year. Mill Creek has my 80 now and getting a few upgrades. But hopefully back soon and can get together.

Hey Everyone - I've been lingering in the main mud forum for years now and have since moved to Nashville. I've had my '96 80 in storage for a while and looking to refresh it and put it back on the road. Any leads here on a good shop in the area that knows their stuff? Any leads are greatly...
After I removed the running boards it left these tabs from the front fender flares. I don’t want to cut OEM flares. Anyone have a clever solve for what to do to tidy things a bit? I was thinking front mud guards but I’ve seen some pics of cleaner versions (maybe they’re all cut?). Planning on...
So I think i've finally isolated the source for my floor mats getting soaking wet after big rains. After washing my car the other day I noticed water at the floor-mat again. Looked inside of the front passenger side window and behold it was wet in the corner inside the car... Pushing on the...
Hello again, in search of a mechanic in the Middle Tennessee area. If anyone knows something here would be great. I do not have a garage or tools at the moment sadly as i have recently moved but looking for a hand on a few things. Some leak related and all around PM stuff.
Any leads are...
Did you ever figure out what #5 is? I can't seem to find this part anywhere in the FSM... Mine broke while doing all of this work. Long story. I know it sucks in air as part of the Emissions system but don't know what it is. Any leads?
I bought my 80 new in 1997. I have had it ever since! I use it every day as a daily driver and the occasional off road. If you like it and you want it, get it. I have never had any REAL problems with the car. Always did PM on it so I have kept it mostly stock. Don't go big unless you're gonna...
So I did all the work needed. See previous post 'this is what p0401 code looks like'.
Idle now struggling and not smooth as before. Truck readjusting to more airflow? Should I disconnect computer and rehook up?
Amy other ideas?
Yea they didn't come through. Good catch. I'll be sure to carve out the time to post a step by step walkthrough for you when have all the free time. Just for you though. In the meantime, send me a link to all of your step by step walkthroughs when you get a chance so I can see what they should...
So I decided to just tackle all of this and get it done. Thanks to Onur for the parts. This is what 20yr old vac lines, manifolds and ports looked like inside. Replaced modulator, vac lines, check valves, etc...
Thanks! What am I looking for when inspecting the u-joints? Free play mostly? Also, is there a way to know if the isolator material is deteriorated just be inspecting from the outside?
Guys and gals, maybe a newb question here. But I am getting a more serious vibration when in Drive, stopped at a light or stop sign. Vibration goes away as soon as I apply even the slightest acceleration. No other vibration in Neutral or Reverse. is it time to swap the isolators? Or something else?
