Knocked this out over the weekend on a 2003 LX470
With the following Amazon sourced Toyota 2061B, found here which was specified earlier in the post as working for my make/model/year.
Learnings :
The '03 LX had some differences in the orientation in the youtube video:
The lock cylinder had...
I had shuddering issues due to a torque converter problems on my 2003 LX470.
Mine was in the range of 30 -45 MPG and up or downshifting during the shudder would stop the situation.
It did not occur every time. It did NOT show up in any faults that a Transmission shop could detect.
I hope...
Does the front bumper pictured on the Toyota LC work on the Lexus LX470 ? all years covered ? Is cutting involved? ( My apologies if this has been answered)
Very good looking bumper btw.
Hey Dylan welcome to the club, glad you're here.
Unfortunately pics weren't found.
My situation also slightly different than what you are describing.
My chairs motors were strong like bull. The failure was mechanical (break of a very small, aged plastic rod/stick the switch pivots on to...
Yes mine is sorted now. I ran the updated dlr with the factory resistor for a couple of weeks (very intense bright dlr ) then switched back to Luke's provided resistor and things have been great since.
No further issues.
I did not remove the front seat the switch is held in place from the back of the side panel.
I simply removed the side plastic panel holding the switch. It was a while ago so 3? screws I believe.
Just don't go gorilla on it and you'll be fine.
I'll post back if I can fine any pictures
There is a small plastic pin inside the switch that often breaks.
I had the same thing in my lx470 when I bought in 2015
What I did to fix it:
1. Take the switch off the seat and disassemble it.
The broken pieces should be still in the switch. Dont discard those as the will be used to...
Thanks for the quick turn around @jerryb. Let me carve some time I'll email you with the answers and a basic schematic of wires/colors and connections plus voltage readings and we can go from there.
Absolutely and thanks again for standing behind your products and for the caring service thus far. Retrofitting electronics an aging fleet with all the variants isn't for the weak or the timid. Also despite my odd ball situation I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the mod to others.
With the OEM resister I get this :
Very bright but evenly light DRL lights.
So I measured the resistance of the OEM resistor :
And the supplied resistor
Thoughts?
I have a 2003 Lexus LX.
So @Luke111 being a stand up guy sent me out a replacement harness.
Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem of one light not firing evenly with the other ( NO not the hood struts being too weak to hold up the hood :) )
So I picked up some readings while I had...
@jerryb
1. I removed the size 20 fuse.
No real change in behavior upon removal. As heat brings up resistance there is a small but unlikely chance that having the fuse may have reduced the voltage down (stretching my know how here) to where it only fires one bulb (??? ). I can verify this...
