False alarm, wasn’t the new heater control valve this time. When my shop replaced it, looks like the PHH started leaking on the block side. So that’s a much more annoying fix, but at least I know where it’s coming from and don’t have to warranty another control valve.
le sigh :-(
Doesn't freeze, I think it's just Prestone green (premixed) in there now, from the last time I did a coolant flush a few years back. Anything you want me to test specifically?
Worm type clamps, but there is no leakage from the hoses or the clamps. We observed (I have video) of the screw at the bottom of the valve leaking from my first one. I haven't watched the latest one long enough to see, but the residue on the hoses below the valve indicate a failure in the same...
I have a '96, and my heater control valve (which was only 6 months old) started leaking, so we replaced it under warranty from Toyota with another brand new unit. Now, 2 weeks later, this one is leaking.
The shop and I have traced it to the control valve due to the location of the residual...
Neutral.
if you bounce on the throttle accidentally you aren’t going to accelerate to your demise. Also, you only need to mash the shifter, no button press required.

Torqued adjustment nut to whatever makes the wheel stable, then lock nut to 46 pounds or whatever it says on the sheet. I probably messed with it too much when I did my last tire rotation, and it just took a bunch of miles to really work loose.
Wasn’t pulling harder than it normally does...
Yep, rebuilt the whole thing 30k ago, and check it every 4-5k miles. Haven’t ever had cause to dig in deeper, the wheel hasn’t been “loose” until this last one.
Oh well, parts aren’t that bad, and the process is a lot easier now that’s I’ve done it multiple times.
Couldn't agree more. I'm pretty upset this is going to take a while to fix and wasn't budgeted for (we just had our first kid), but very pleased that it wasn't while on a trip with said child.
So I went about a thousand mile passed my normal maintenance interval, got my truck on jack stands, and my driver side wheel was basically falling off.
So I thought to myself, must be a lose nut, this’ll be a 15 minute job...
Turns out the adjustment nut is now welded to the spindle, the lock...
Thanks to Kevin at Wagongear, got my cb antenna mount installed and my imaf installed, replacing my busted antenna.
Buried the multiplexer up behind the glove box, fits just barely! Happy to report an/fm is very strong and get a very fast HD Radio lock, now to buy a cb for the ashtray.
I did a thing.
