    1989 Fj62

I am sad to list my Cruiser for sale. The only reasons I am selling are due to increased financial demands and some nagging health issues. It is pretty much a stock cruiser. Here is what I have done in the last 18 months: Complete front axle job New front Rotors and pads New Master...

Houston Area - Need Build up Shop

I see the recommendation for Javier's in Houston as a Mechanic and have contacted him for a few things. Any suggestions on Houston/Katy area businesses to install suspensions, engine swaps, body work, interiors and transfercase/ transmission work? I have been handling all the normal stuff...

    oil dripping from under dash

Based on your feedback and my inspection it seems to be the speedo cable. Is the best remedy to simply replace the cable? If so, how hard is that compared to oh let's say doing inner axle seals? Thanks! Jim

    oil dripping from under dash

Ok fellas, Today dark brown/reddish oil started dripping slowly from somewhere under the dash. It falls just to the right of the gas pedal and there is not much of it. I searched for the source but no luck. It seems to drizzle on to the manual throttle stick and onto the air conditioner plastic...

Value of a 1997 Anniversary Edition

Sadly I walked away from the deal. I confidently said it had lockers in my original post. As the wise one's say on this board only beleive it if you see it. When I first saw it it was high on a rack with a priceless view of what is the cleanest I have seen. A "certified tech" told me the switch...

Value of a 1997 Anniversary Edition

Sorry to ask but I have to. Today I found a near mint 1997 FZJ80 Collectors/Anniversary Edition. I say mint as the knuckles are great and the thing is 100% stock. It has 107,000 miles. It is the silver/blue tones in color with perfect gray leather interior. It drives as straight as the day it...

    Water on driver's side

I had the same thing but only when driving in rain. Water came in around the Yee-Haw handle on the driver's side. I pulled the windshield and re-installed with new rubber. Water stopped and amazingly the wind noise did as well. I guess if water can get in so can the wind - go figure. Best...

    Rear Window - Wiper issue

Last night my rear wiper just started going - without being turned on. I tried everything and the only way to turn it off was to pull the fuse. It is not like it is fully on, it groans and works very slowly. It works normal if I go ahead and turn it on. Switch bad? If so, where would...

    Parts list for Suspension

Hello folks. I am going tackle an OME suspension job on my 89 FJ62. OME is my only choice IMO. Other than the springs, shocks and steering stabilized; what other stuff would you recommend? I am looking to get 2.5-3.0 inches of lift and a much better ride on and off road. What weight? Medium...
