Wanted Oregon FJ40 late model oem front seat covers

If I understand correctly and you’re looking for a used OE Set, I still have my original covers, removed now in a box from my 79/2 40. They’re better than the ones in the pic. I’ve decided to replace them but at one point I considered putting them back on.

    Air rail tube torque specs?

Yes. By getting them torqued down properly would give peace of mind of any exhaust fumes leaking from them.

    Air rail tube torque specs?

Thank you for sharing! Only thing this instruction is missing, is the torque required for the air injector nozzle “The fitting that screws into the head”. This looks like the torque value for the compression fittings. Those fittings are attached to the air rail and screw onto the top of each air...

    Air rail tube torque specs?

Good question!! Been trying to find out for awhile now. Nothing in the FAQ I could find. Is that antiseize around the injectors? Was tempted to do that to but with the temperature I decided not too.

    Wanted FJ40 Manifold Heat Shield

Yep. I found a pic of my original made from cloth asbestos fiber. Also, the replacement version in steel. See below. If there was a way to verify that at least the 3 piece manifold horn would fit the curve of your 75-6 cali version. That would be a start. Then modifying the other bolt hole location.

Ok. My cruiser is 2/79 Federal spec 40 series. The one I’m looking for may be smaller but my original is gone. I also have the 3 piece manifold.

exhaust manifold leak at the heat riser bushings

Great article and work around!! Wanted to ask you about the plugs. They look like threaded bolts with the bolt head on the inside where the butterfly valve used to be. How did you install them? Did they slide in with the threads? or did you tap new threads to match in the exhaust manifold?

Do you know whether or not there is reference to thread sealer in FSM? I’ve looked in a few LC manuals but can’t find it.

Rear Diff Pinion Shaft Spacer 0 Clearance Question

Thanks for all who have provided input. This is an fj40 79/2. Semi float rear differential. Swapped out the OEM that PO blew up. Bought this one off mudd and the only thing I used from my old diff was the spacer. Keep in mind when that the minimum standard distance is .0024” that is very thin...

Rear Diff Pinion Shaft Spacer 0 Clearance Question

Hello, my pinon is spacer 29.8" and fits perfectly with no discernable space on either side. Unable to fit the minimum fuelers gauge .0024" on either side. I can remove it with my fingers and a dental pick so it does not appear to be binding anything. Is it ok to leave this way? The FSM min...
