I have two of them that I had rebuilt by the company in S.C. as spares for "OSO" ('93 FZJ80).
"OSO" has moved on to someone else so I don't need them any longer.
$300.00 shipped each.
To follow up on this. I split the harness along the firewall open and found no connector either loose or tucked away. I didn't find anything that resembled one that might have been cut out. I have no idea what was done to this 80 but I know what I did.
Following the directions given me by...
Thanks, I have read every page of every thread relating to this.
The "Redneck" solution would be great IF I had the relevant connector to put the jumper in.
We have had a constant CEL for the EGR since we purchased the 'Cruiser. Its BOD is 05/93.
When we first brought her home to us I spent a lot of time, money, and energy trying to get it resolved and eventually took it to CBT for the issue. That is when the Toyota Factory Tech offered his input...
OK, I have been reading on this topic for the entire time I have owned the '93 "Cruiser".
All of the components in the EGR system have been replaced and intake cleaned while achieving no corrective result. I have even replaced the ECM twice.
I have even had it to the dealer to have the code...
I did not want to leave this thread in limbo so here goes.
I did all the checks on the exterior and found nothing with the electrical connector or any of the wiring that looked to be at fault.
So I did some checking with my go-to parts guys at Toyota for the replacement solenoids. After they...
Well "OSO" has been doing so well I have had nothing to do for her but regular oil changes. (Well aside from the EGR code that will not clear and CBT and Toyota Tech say it should not be capable of throwing and the oil level switch that gets stuck sometimes.) Now it appears she had developed a...
Nice addition to the thread. I'm going to go out and just verify all my bolts are sound even though I have not had a reoccurrence of the problem in some time.
I have given up on getting the EGR code resolved. After CBT contacted Toyota about it and the engineer said "That's not possible on a...
I used all OEM bushings from "Mr. T" that I ordered through my buddies "Tom and Larry" at Big Two. They were more than twice as much as getting the same parts from Moog. I figured that the first set had lasted since '93 so this OEM set will long out last my time with "OSO".
Thanks for all the input guys. I definitely see all the various reasons to and not to bush them.
Heckraiser, I guess I don't know where to look locally because I look for several months in the local market before I found the set I bought.
I finally installed the OME lift on "OSO" and as part of the process I sourced a complete set of front and rear control arms/radius arms so I could have them cleaned/painted and rebushed and ready to go.
Now I have been looking at offering the ones I pulled to the group but I have considered...
So far I like them. Need to get another for the spare but I wanted to make sure they fit underneath before buying the 5th.
Now I am contimplating wheel spacers to widen the track a bit: make it a bit more stayble.:hmm:
Well, Santa hit the desert early and "OSO" got a new set of shoes.
In the end we decided on the Falken in the 305.
