Yeah not too bad at all. I have a 78 - they seemed a bit short on the passenger side. I had to do a little bit of cutting, but nothing major. They shipped to Perth pretty quick and were quite reasonable $$ from memory.
Mate, Ive never seen them, sorry.
Im based on the West Coast, maybe someone from over east can help you. I got some mats for my 40 from a place in Victoria and had them shipped to WA: TRUFIT Automotive Products
Ive also seen these guys posted on the Australian 40 Series Facebook page: Home -...
Today I replaced the diaphragm for the secondary on the carby and replaced the rear shock absorbers...
Its good to feel the secondary... almost like a turbo on the 2F! The photo doesn't do it justice of how many holes were in the diaphragm, no wonder the vacuum wasn't working.
The rear...
Got some black door cards and spent the afternoon putting them in. Added some insulation to the back of them - not sure if it'll make much difference.
Really impressed with the quality of the product. I spent a long time looking for black ones - all I could ever find was grey.
Got it a bit of a tune up last week - took the valve cover off and adjusted a couple of tappets, also sorted the timing and adjusted the carby. It seems the second jet isn't kicking in and the diaphragm is buggered. Got a mate to show me through the ropes with the tappets, its something id never...
I see what you're saying - $1320 for a $50 seat - but the point of the seat is to put 2 baby seats in. Why put a $900 seat in (what i was quoted for a third row Ford Territory) when it will be covered by baby capsules/seat covers?
The seat itself i like - its comfortable and will do the job...
Cheers - it hasn't been driven much. Just had baby no.2 last week, so our 'commuting' cars now have 2 baby/booster seats in the back,,,, unfortunately the 40 can't do that.
So I've been speaking with the WA Department of Transport (DOT) about changing the seating capacity. Im not sure whats...
Hey Ollie
1800 180 028 and HOME - DRAFT are his details. From memory I got all new seals and he did my front windscreen + did my seals and re-installed all of my windows (8 in total). for o'briens etc to do 8 windows was crazy $$. He was good; and it was his son/son-in-law that did my 40...
Great looking dog!
You couldn't post up some pics - if you get a chance - of the mounts inside the engine and how you installed it? I know you have a diesel, and i have the 2F - i have the same nippondenso unit, I just haven't got any other parts and am looking at eventually getting the aircon...
Cheers Strategic - yep i saw your post with the aircon installed. I have the same nippondenso unit - but just the unit, nothing else.
At the moment, I'm enjoying driving it; will have a look at the tappets shortly though.
:flipoff2:Gday Ollie - welcome.
Im from Perth as well and have 78 with a 2F - I've added some comments below to your questions
Figure out how to change transmission oil- if I can't get the filler bolt out - do I empty it and fill it through the gear stick hole?? Dunno mate - mine was rounded...
Well, its been a good 6 months since I've posted on this thread. A lot of mechanical work has been done since then. The gearbox and transfer case were rebuilt, new clutch and rear main seal sorted. The front drum brakes were removed and disc brakes added (with 60 series parts) inc new bearings...
