Biggest ride upgrade for me was going from 2" shocks to 2.5" shocks with adjustment. My set up is similar to yours (drawers, bumpers winch etc). I run Icon 3" springs up front and Dobinsons VVT 3.5" in the rear. It rides pretty nice for a 25 year old truck.
Dobinsons is good, particularly if you plan to add weight.
Icon is also good, and affordable, but isn't as suited to a heavy rig. Their systems do ride nice though.
Its specifically for the Oregon Trophy Challenge race. About half of it occurs at night and requires a lot of map and direction reading. Last year we used regular headlamps and found the constant white light made it harder to see the course.
🤷♂️ not everyone wants to spend $26 and wait for it when they can spend less than $5 and have it done sooner.
In this case I had already gotten a new cap but wanted to see what the result would be. I'm big into fixing and repairing things myself versus tossing them and buying new. I teach my...
Realized no one was addressing your other questions:
I think the panhard bracket would be fine but it may not be needed with a 2.5" lift. The goal with the rear panhard bar is to have it be as level as possible at ride height. Best bet here is to drive the tuck and see. If you go over humps in...
I have the 4" arms on a 3" lift (DVS didn't have 3" arms at the time). It works great. Can't see the extra half inch difference you're looking at being an issue
Rear axle from 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser. E-locker housing but the locker actuator is broken and will need to be replaced. Includes calipers, rotors and pan hard bar.
Can ship if you make arrangements with a carrier that is local to me and I just drop it at their yard or they pick up. I have a...
Not sure if people found a better non screen option but here's mine. Alpine CDE-265BT.
Has bluetooth and USB connections. Supports handsfree calling but not texting. Xm radio can be added with the accessory from Alpine. Color is adjustable, I have it set to a green that matches the green...
As long as you picked the right wires using the high beams would not impact anything once the car was started. I'd wire it to the circuit that goes from the ignition switch to the start solenoid. The circuit would only be energized when the key was in the START position so any other time closing...
So long as you can isolate a circuit through the switch that switches on and off a relay you could make it work. It would look factory but also might look odd if you have to turn the locker on to have it immobilized. That alone could draw attention to anyone who knows these vehicles. You could...
Have you applied 12V direct to the motors to see if they move? Possible your switch has worn out. It can be disassembled and the contacts cleaned. If your motors function with 12v direct to them the next issue is the switch. Here's my investigation into the passenger side...
Yeah, I wasn't really sure. I guess I have always waited for my rear to engage before trying to engage the front. I normally try not to use lockers unless I need them and then I try to get out of whatever I am in with the rear only. Will only use the front if all else fails.
There is an indicator on the dash for the CDL. Its orange. You should also see the ABS light come on once the CDL engages. If I recall you cannot engage the front or rear without the CDL engaged.
It is odd that your front would work but not the rear. The switch turns the rear on first, then the...
