I am in need of a idle mixture screw (the one with the spring on the passenger side of carb) I've tried multiple parts houses and nobody has them anymore. I even tried toyota of Japan to no luck. it's for the stock 1986 Aisin carb. I have a trollhole on the rig now and the old Aisin is taking...
I have seen scale model kits of various engines over the years but I saw a 2f model on a middle eastern toyota dealer's instagram feed. It would be pretty cool to find one, Anybody ever see one? I tried googling it but no luck...
I have some bfg all terrains on my wagon and I'm noticing some strange wear on the passenger front. No odd vibrations, weights are still on, tie rods good except for one on the passenger side but I'm not getting play when I rock tire at 3 and 9 o'clock. Shocks are pretty much toast I think, and...
Did a search on the forum and found there wasn't a concise thread about the foibles and follies created by previous owners that have had to be remedied by us in order to keep our rigs on the road and cruising smooth. I thought it might be good therapy and a good way to feel some camaraderie when...
I installed a new THC on my fj60 and when I put on the choke in the morning, the choke comes on but the idle doesn't increase. For no particular reason I thought to put on the choke mid-day and sure enough the idle went up to a steady 1200 or so. Any ideas?
Other than this little issue, the...
in the process of putting in a trollhole carb. Trying to keep a "stock" appearance. anyone have any experience with replacing the white junction that comes with the trollhole to the original green junction?
I've tried pulling, pushing, prying on the spades that came off the original carb side...
Is this even a thing? Thought I would put it back on the rig since I am planning a couple of mountain trips this summer. The HAC isn't doing anything when I test it. Been looking around for a replacement but they have gone the way of hen's teeth, or so it seems.
been back and forth with an idle problem since buttoning up my engine. 1986 2f with a desmog without HAC (by me with the help of countless posts and photos thanks to the forums). I initially pulled it apart to fix a cracked intake and while I had it out I had the head rebuilt. Just as I was...
1986 fj60
So, the saga continues. After driving around the wagon with a cracked intake plenum, I decided to fix the issue along with some other problems. Ended up getting a replacement manifold, having it machined up to my exhaust manifold, rebuilding the head due to burnt valves and seats...
Anyone have any experience with media blasting the bezels on a pre-87 60? Got a set that's mismatched and want to black them out. And if anyone is in Santa Rosa with a couple hours to spare, want to help me pull the head? Its all unbolted and ready to go!
So this has been a bit of an uphill battle with our 60. Bought it with an intake leak and found that there was a crack in the manifold. Supposed "expert welder" attempted to fix the crack and ruined the intake in the process (learned a lesson, I did). Got a replacement intake from a fellow...
1986 2f .yeah, I know, good luck. Had someone try to fix the crack in mine and now it's FUBAR. Dead in the water unless I can come up with one. PLEAAAASEE.
so I have a question about the electrical connection that comes off of the egr, mine isn't there, period.
What should be routed to this? desmogging and scratching my head on this one.
experience and preferences? I'm going to blast my intake, exhaust and valve cover today and figure I'll paint the stock exhaust manifold. I'm thinking of a metallic look for the exhaust but may end up just doing it black-might as well make it look purdy while I have the chance.
What have you...
So, unlike most of my old vehicles, the heater works great in the fj60 (which btw the wife has named Hobbes), but the problem is that it doesn't ever stop working. It'll be 75 outside and inside it's 85. At first I attributed this to the GINORMOUS tranny hump producing radiant heat (which it...
just thought I would post a hello on here. Recently picked up an '86 fj60 for the wife and I. I'm probably going to do a fair amount of lurking, a decent bit of commenting and probably a bunch of question-asking both stupid and otherwise.
figured it's always better to introduce myself before...
