build quality of later 2020/2021 200s

Verified all three (2014, 2019, 2021) have a 4 in the 11th digit so all made in Yoshiwara.

build quality of later 2020/2021 200s

They were all bought new with less than 10 miles on the ODO. All driven by me, never off-roaded, mostly highway miles. Oil changes every 5k miles and run with Top Tier fuel. Essentially babied. I also can "fix the headrest by lowering it, but I am a sucker for symmetry and like them to match as...

build quality of later 2020/2021 200s

I've had a 2014, 2019, and currently a 2021. Observations: 2014 - Dash creaked like crazy especially when hot outside. Leather was more rugged feeling. Worst stereo of the three. Passenger seat headrest rattled. Drivers side window motor was louder than passenger. 1-2 shift while in traffic was...

    Oil pressure 21

There is a way to turn off the ECO light permanently in the manual. It is buried in there and will take some digging to find. I think it involves pressing the ODO reset switch with a combo of other steps. I've done it on all three of 200s i've owned. EDIT: Your oil pressure is normal. Mine sits...

Buying a 2013 -- Need some quick feedback (Seats and pre-inspection)

Agree with eatSleepWoof - Hard pass. It looks like it has been in mom-service with a few dogs in tow. Someone above me wondered what it smells like inside. If I had to guess I would say a strong mix of cleaner and funk. Funk is hard to get out especially on hot summer days. And something else...

$87k tradein value for an '21 LC?

I did the same thing -- traded a 19 for a 21 -- same color. They gave me $70k for my 19 that I paid $78 for new!

    OBD2 data questions

Knowing oil pressure is a car guy thing. Some are okay with it being fine and others are simply curious as to what it actually is. I don't think anyone on this thread said they are worried or neurotic about it.

    OBD2 data questions

Agree with you bloc. I'm not worried about it either. More curious as to what the actual oil pressure is during various operating conditions. Having that data point would be especially useful as the miles rack up to know the overall health of the engine.

    OBD2 data questions

I am curious if there is an oil pressure reading with OB2 data. Since there are so many posts about low oil pressure readings from the gauge, I would be curious to know what the pressure actually is numerically. Appreciate anything you can share. Sorry, not answering your questions. Hopefully...

    Husky vs. WeatherTech vs. OEM

I am also in the market for floor mats and like the look of the 3D Maxpider. It is hard to tell from the pictures if they are compatible with the factory twist-type floor mat anchors that come in Toyota vehicles. Can someone that has them comment on that please? Thank you!

    Aussie 200 Series Sahara

The Kagu floor mats look great. Questions... do the front mats attach to the existing factory Toyota twist-type floor mat anchors? Also do the rear mats and cargo mat fit as nicely as the fronts? I'm in the market and really like these from your pictures. You have a very nice looking Land...

Intro post--new member from DFW, TX

I think you are making a great decision on getting a LC. There just isn't anything that drives and performs the way they do -- in all purposes mentioned in your post. I also think getting the third row is important for those times when you want to haul a crowd and for the resale value. Heads...

    Valvetrain noise??

That's what I understand based on this thread. The posts have been very informative and I am strongly considering a heavier oil when ToyotaCare coverage is over. But, as I said previously... I find it hard to believe that Toyota's sole gain in recommending 0w-20 is meeting USAs fuel economy...

    Valvetrain noise??

When what is recommended everywhere else around the world? The manual that came with my LC says 0W-20 is preferred so I think a healthy debate is certainly warranted and informative. (And yes, I know about fuel economy games as noted in my previous comment.)

    Valvetrain noise??

Agee on OCI. Oil weight may be up for debate, but I am dead set on nothing more than a 5k oil change interval.

    Valvetrain noise??

Nice! The 6L80 tranny is totally exciting, especially compared to its little brother the 4L60. I had a Chevy 1500HD 4x4 back in the day and the 6.0L and 6L80 combo was downright bullet proof.

    Valvetrain noise??

Bloc - I'll take a look at the UOAs on Bobistheoilguy.com but... more importantly, tell me that 80 series with a 6.2 vortec ran like a bat out of hell. Holy moly that had to be fun to drive!

    Valvetrain noise??

There is alot of debate about oil viscosity on the internet and from various mechanics I've talked to. From my understanding the 0W-20 recommendation is for proper VVT cam phaser operation when cold (0w) in addition to better fuel economy from less resistance (mostly the 20). I realize there...
