Right, I knew to look there first, sorry. Looks like they have serious love for the Chevy conversion, but not the Ford. Unless I missed it on the website, it appears I will have to do a complete power train change if I want to go back to the original transmission/tcase setup. I have wanted to...
Would you happen to know if this would mate up to a Ford 302 without serious modifications? I have a C4 trans I would love to swap out for the original transmission. How are the gears in the t-case, good or ready for a rebuild?
That's exactly what they don't tell you on the website - there is a "vintage" option for licensing. Thanks for the reply!
On a separate note, I'm looking forward to the Cruiser community in SLC. My wife and I stumbled upon an old warehouse downtown attached to an antique store off of 600 S that...
My wife and I just moved to SLC and I need to get the Cruiser licensed. SLC has a stricter set of laws for registering a vehicle than NV, primarily the safety inspection. I have a crack in the windshield, as well as some rock chips, that concern me in passing the safety inspection. Additionally...
Another good catch, thanks Dedtruk. After going through some old PM's and posts it was out of a '71 40, not a 60. I was getting mixed up with a newer 60 I was looking at picking apart for parts. Thanks for the catch!
As so many have said before, my loss is someone's gain. It has a Ford 302 with a C4 automatic transmission. Newer BF Goodrich tires (with spare) on original rims with hub caps. The transfer case (original) and motor were just resealed; the transmission has a small (maybe 2-3 drips per night)...
This weekend the heater was rebuilt, repainted, and all ducting was purged of 39 years of dust and dirt. Then we took the top off, added a SOR bikini top, and drove it (heater off)!
I made poor man's door panels out of ABS plastic for both the driver and passenger doors. It's a pretty clean, yet rugged look. All said and done, it cost about $30 for both sides. That leaves enough to replace the handle housing that is broken in the picture.
While I was at it I decided to...
Thanks RAYJON! That is about 5 minutes from our house. I'm not sure we can make it this week, but we would really like to meet the group. If we can't make it this week we will do our best to be there in January. Don't expect much out of the cruiser, it smells like burning t-case gear oil and...
A few things are needed to keep the daily driver a daily driver, and the other things are simply "wants" because they are missing.
Needs:
1) transfer case with good gears and bearings (mine is whining something fierce and not going to last much longer)
2) e-brake system since the PO took all of...
