Mine got snagged. I believe I'm going to get it re-ran and change that huge resonator out with a smaller muffler. Thoughts? My rubber held up and actually bent my mount. Exhaust now sags and hits the drive shaft.
Got the other reman in. Easier to turn but still not right. Fluid still gets pretty hot. Turned pretty easy right after the install, then got hard to turn. Ideas Mudders?
I would have rebuilt myself also but the PO broke the tensioner ear off of the pump casting. I'm also searching for the spacer that goes between the tension adjustment bracket and the pump.
I replaced my power steering due to a rear leak. I got a reman from Autozone. I flushed the system and bled well. There are no bubbles in the reservoir. During the bleeding process with the tires raised, it turned fine. After letting the vehicle back to the ground, it was very hard to turn. I do...
My Cruiser is for Offroad purposes. I love the 3FE. It's not a speed demon but the reliability is unsurpassed and the engine does well off-road. It's simply doesn't get "tired" or die. I prefer air lockers over the electric so I'm not bothered by the lack. The fact of the semi-floating rear end...
Take them apart and inspect like I mentioned. Do they both click? If so, I would replace them both. If you don't want to replace them, take them apart, clean them very well, and swap them. That's your best bet without replacing them.
Did you take the birfs completely apart and inspect the ball bearing races? Without doing this, it's very hard to get clean and also tell if there is wear. I highly recommend swapping sides regardless of the conditions of the birfs. If one side is clicking, replace it and put it on the other...
If you need to add grease then the grease originally put in went somewhere. It doesn't run out or use it. I would suggest checking to see how much is in there via the square plug. Use a Ty-wrap to check the amount. I would also check the diff fluid. It is probably diluted with moly or whatever...
