If you know the exact lift you want, I would do lift, bumper, then tires. That way you can measure for proper sized tires for the lift and weight of the bumper.
I know EI very well. My family has had a vacation spot there for over 60 years, well before the high rise. I told the guy about possibly trading, he'll let me know if he wants to get in touch with you.
You gotta be near me. I'm in Greenville.
I'm not really sure what you're looking for, but if it were me I'd keep the 03, lift it 2" and pull the side steps.
I know a guy who would trade you what you have for his well built LC. He's got ARB bumpers, roof rack, snorkel, lift, etc. I'm not...
After doing a lot of reading, it appears United Radio is the trusted source for repairing ML amps. I called them up and they had never heard of the fan staying on constantly, but they would refurbish the entire amp for $475. Pretty expensive, but these amps apparently are worth a fortune.
The fan ran for 10 hours straight today while I was at work. I came home and disconnected the battery for a few minutes, that didn't fix anything. I'll do some research on the temp switch. Mark Levinson equipment is so wide spread it's nearly impossible to research specific faults. Anyone got a...
I have the factory sound system, head unit, the whole nine yards. This morning I go out to the truck and I hear the amp fan running before the tuck is even started. The amp fan has now been running all day with the ignition off. What causes this? It's going to kill my battery if I don't find...
I have a 2001 with AHC. It performs properly right now, but my tests show it's nearing the end of its journey. I'll be swapping it out with a standard suspension when that time comes. Everything I've seen though is 2+" lift, and I want to replace it with factory height. For some reason I...
It sounds like to me you're willing to throw away $3-4k+. I'd get the O2 sensor fixed for a few hundred tops, new floor mats for another hundred and go for the full amount private sale. Craigslist is too easy and Autotrader can reach a lot of people. There aren't many for sale out there.
Congrats on the purchase. I have an 01 LX that I bought about 2 weeks ago with 171k on the clock. I'm trying to understand your post, are you saying you bought it at 173k but the bearing failed at 40k? Or did you buy it and put 40k on it? I'm changing my timing belt and all its components...
Since you haven't exactly pinpointed your leak, start there. I pulled the gasket away and just used small amounts of water until I could feel where it was coming through the windshield. I gently poured water directly into the gap between the glass and the body, where the gasket sits. It...
I finally got around to fixing that. I scraped off the old double sided tape from the body and back side of the trim and put down new 3m tape. Then I used a 4" C-clamp to hold it snug for a few hours. So far it's holding.
No. There is a ~1/2" pvc line running directly from the sunroof, down the A-pillar, and out the bottom. The two can't mix unless there's a hole in the line, which is unlikely.
I finally found the source of my leak. The PO had the windshield replaced at some point and there was a tiny leak...
The rubber windshield trim just pulls right out. There may be a little bit of adhesive from the windshield installation though. I pulled mine back about two feet to get silicon in there. Then you can push it back in carefully with a tiny flat screw driver. I also pulled back the side moulding...
My silicon attempt has failed as well. It's just as leaky as it has been. I'm at a loss. I've narrowed my leak to a 2 square inch area. I'll let mine dry for a while and add some more silicon I guess. Can't hurt.
That is disheartening. I have the exact same leak, same spot. Yesterday I applied some flowable silicon to the top corner around the windshield mating surface and down into the body crack. I haven't checked to see if it's sealing yet though. The fact that yours isn't sealing is making me...
My new to me LX has a leak on the passenger floorboard. The windshield has been replaced at some point, but I'm fairly certain it's missing some parts. I've read most of the threads on here about rivets, moldings, etc but I have yet to see any detailed pictures of where these rivets go. I...
I tested my AHC fluid levels today. 8 gradations between low and high. That's borderline not good. In low, the fluid tops out at the MIN level.
I pulled back on the tensioner pulley also to get a feel for it and pulled the belt off. Once I got the belt back on, the tensioner had less...
I have a 2001 LX and I'm looking for the wood grained blank "plug" that goes to the right side of the radio where switches might be mounted for aftermarket stuff. I'm sure other years have the same plug so just let me know what you have.
If you just have the wood cover for the plug that's...
Thanks! Looks like it was last serviced at a Lexus dealer at 62k miles in 2006. Nothing major was done during that time frame except replace the radio. I'm going to look closer, but aside from some wear on the bolts, I don't see any indication of a timing belt change.
14.9 mpg with 75%...
I just bought an 01 LX so I thought I'd join and say :flipoff2:
This is my first Toy/ Lexus but so far I love the thing. 170k miles and zero service records. The interior looks brand new basically and the AHC appears to function properly. I've got some concerns obviously about the timing...
