Thanks @ff347 , Don't think so...
Just need to make sure while flip flopping the canister hoses the correct ones are capped or not capped.
The middle hose now is capped. So if I move it to the right port of the canister that means the right port with be capped.
The original right port hose now...
I’ve just dove into this… have something interesting with the way I desmogged a few things. Photo 1 shows the middle hose of the canister that runs up and against the firewall and then back around underneath the master cylinder… shown in photo 2.
I have this capped off for some reason? So I have...
Thanks so much. I seriously though I was in deep trouble out there. Haha.
The sight glass level looks low like the photo ether running or turned off…
Thanks for the heads up with the hoses. So in the photo attached swap these two?
@OSS @ff347
Hey guys, thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. My explanations weren’t very good.
I really was out in the middle of the boonies, super hot. Over 90 degrees at about 5500 elevation. The the fan actually was running, just didn’t check when I arrived to my destination. It...
Thanks!
So drove for an hour in hot weather. Stopped and parked way out in the middle of nowhere…
it sat for 15 minutes. Cooling fan must be disconnected. Tried to start back up after I got my fishing boat in the water and it wouldn’t turn over. Sight glass shows fuel level super low.
it’s...
Hey guys,
I’m stalled out in the middle of nowhere temps above 90 degrees. I’m assuming vapor lock. Really appreciates and tips at this point as I decided to just go fish until it cools down but it’s over 90 out. At about 5500 ft in elevation.
I re torqued the manifold bolts yesterday and think...
Want to thank you again for offering help with photos. I have a few more questions but wanted to send you guys this as I got it fired up last night and drove it up into the mountains.
Good point. I just been following trollholes simple but “not so simple to figure out” set up. Have just a straight pvc hose without the T but will install the T back in and plumb it the correct way.
Thanks! Good diagram... I'm just so curious about how Marshall set up his trollhole carb and hoses. He did a bunch of funky stuff I'm trying wrap my brian around haha. @ff347 has shown some great images of how it's set up. Surprised the Trollhole carb doesn't come with a diagram to help set it...
Wow, a vacuum gauge to the dash, That's cool!
I have the hoses going to the correct places from the distributor cap. That rubber cover is hard to button on and off so thanks for unbuttoning a few.
Actually was wondering about the big black air cleaner on top of the engine that holds the...
These are great! Some interesting things here I’ll try to figure out tonight and probably have a few more questions later or in the morning, but thanks so much for taking the time. Really appreciate it.
Edit...
I'd be very curious to know where the line for the intake manifold gas filter port...
I agree... colored hose would be awesome.
Photos of your engine compartment are great though.
I labeled with red lines where I’d love to know where those hoses end up. A couple of them I can see the one end but not the other. And then the one behind the engine that is hard to see would be great...
Thank you so much. So quick to respond... I really appreciate the help. I will now be able fire it up this evening.
I've been working on this thing seems like forever. Pulled manifold and had it resurfaced, block off plate installed, all new Toyota bolt hard-wear, rings and springs on horns...
That is a great post about that valve. Thanks! Just to be sure, the port coming straight out the end will got the air cleaner get a little vacuum from that port. Just want to make sure what port on air cleaner this should goto? And then the 90 degree port on the other end goes to the intake...
Wow! That would be FANTASTIC! Anything you have of the lines that he used and ones he capped would be great. I really appreciate it. I'm so close but yet it would be great to see a rig that was actually done by Marshall to see how he sets it up. How's yours running?
AND THANKS!
Thanks, I'm getting there. I actually just have the 2F Engine repair manual and chassis manual. I had this part all wrong. Labeled a photo to get this straight. And thanks again for all the help! Labeled the ports A, B, C
Port A connects to the small hole on the top right side of the...
Thanks again!!!! This is great. I have the manuals and have been looking them over. I'm going to go look if I have the blue version VSV now... but here is what I have that I pulled from my parts that came off. THANK You!
edit... added a photo showing how it was setup in my rig when I pulled it...
