I changed out a dead battery on my 2004 GX470 and got a few side effects:
-the gauge needles flicker but don't complete the full sequence
-after about 20 seconds the gas/speedometer work
-the tachometer stays at 0
The new battery is an everstart maxx 24F, 725 CCA/890 cranking amps.
