    Made some progress today. I was reminded that I`m not in my 30`s anymore dam I thought who tightened these dam bolts !! Then I thought s*** that was me :bang:. The 3 speed trans and transfer case seems to weigh a lot more also o_O. New rear main seal, pilot bearing and new locking tabs on fly...

    I have not driven it yet. I don't see any heavy crawling in my future just general off road use in the desert and elk hunts. I`ll update ya when it's on the road. JP

    Yes the 4 speed bell housing is just the shell. I`m using all of the current 3 speed components even the throw out bearing, Clutch release arm and the pivot ball. I had replaced the clutch about 4 years ago and the flywheel still has visible crosscut marks from the resurfacing. JP

    Same gearing and tire size as you. It is a 74 H41 with the stock transfer case. I just thought the lower first gear would be nice off-road. JP

    I did the same upgrade many years ago and just did some slight bending mods to the shroud for the fan to fit. Did not take much. JP

    I have a lokar cable and bracket. works great. the yellow is heat shrink on the cable end I had to cut it and that stops the fraying. JP
