Patina Appreciation: Show Us Your Rusty Land Cruiser!

The only thing missing on this '64 is the engine and back jump seats. A local Land Cruiser guy has this; it's for sale. He may still have it-it's been about six months since I've last visited for some parts. Two tone I assume is not original.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Didn't really do anything to my 40, nor do I know where I should post this, but I had my brother fix some photos I shot with my good camera last fall near Mt. Rainer. Feel free to snag them if anyone needs a cool wallpaper for your computer screen!

    1967 D40 carb questions

Hello! Yes I thought at some point I'd PM you because you're close by and you have a pretty much all-original 1967. I'm sorry to hear about how your acquired it, but it's fantastic that you're restoring it to be enjoyed! Equally as crazy is how close the frame numbers are, and the colors are the...

    Builds Lemonade - 1967 FJ40

I think if you go the PowerKing route, with black stock wheels and correct caps, you'll have a truly 'authentic' look and you won't stop looking at your 40 after you do it. I ordered all 5 of mine from SimpleTire.com and they were around 80 dollars/ea. This was about 6 months ago. The pictures...

Hello Fellow Mudders; I'm looking for 2 OEM acorn hubcaps, I have three closed centered ones and could buy the repro's, but thought I'd check here first. I'm not afraid of rust and dents for they would go well with the rust and dents on my rig. I can paypal payment. Thanks! James

    9mm Brake Lines- post Rainman?

I believe I read a post about Classic Tube offering a complete line kit for the early 40's. I would have to go through the same thing someday on my 67 but for now everything seems fine. I DID however, have to replace my line from the master cylinder to the first tee junction below the...

    1967 D40 carb questions

At a high level, what can you tell me about my carb? I've read the forum on stamp date decoding, so do I have an eariler air horn on a later body? Or does this carb look correct for my 40? The frame number is 50332; July '67 build? Thank you!

    1967 D40 carb questions

Okay, update: I'm not afraid to state this publicly, I did not check that the fuel tank had run dry! Unbelievable.... Fired right up just fine. After warm up, I adjusted the timing so that the ball meets the needle at nearly 500 r.p.m. What a relief!! Now, I will play with carb; I'll try the...

    1967 D40 carb questions

For reference, this vehicle was purchased from a fellow MUDDER, you can find the original listing last year from Ben Edwards. I bought this almost one year ago today.

    1967 D40 carb questions

Excellent Mark you're the person I was hoping would chime in at some point. Regarding ignition and valve adjustments; while it's true I do not know the history of the drivability of this vehicle prior to now, with the flick of the ignition switch and no foot pumping, the engine would fire right...

    1965 FJ40 Restoration

If you're new to FJ's one of the best things you can do initially is download and print all and every factory service manual's (FSM) that you can. If you search this site most are avaialbe. I've probably printed out 700 pages or more so far. Extremely helpful. Best of luck, these things are too fun!

    1967 D40 carb questions

@thebigredrocker , Thank you for the input, I did check the warpage with a block and feeler gage, I'll post pictures below. The 40 was running 'okay' before the carb disassembly. I don't believe it's been driven since 2005-so I have no idea how it ran before that. I've actually just drove it for...
