Builds I happened upon a 100 Series 4 month build

Side by side comparison Ridies still hasn't fixed this clip and there is no way it will fit. I drilled some holes and screwed it down. I did not steam them and probably won't. Texas heat will get that in a month or two. My thoughts on the two: 1. Ridies Napa Leather has a nicer texture...

This weekend I pulled the seats and got busy. The arm rests had a lot of crushed foam padding so I cut up a dense pipe insulation and glued it on. Man, this made a huge difference for the better. I trimmed the edges to soften the lines. You can’t even see it. Oh the tear down… again…

It was acting up really bad the day before I switched AC AMP #1 and it seems to be Working fine until yesterday the blinked once. I have only installed AC AMP #1. Blinking AC light seems to be getting worse, now. RRRRrrrrr... Also, just ordered Ridies replacement seat covers for the front in the Napa Leather option with the center console (in case colors don’t match). Luckily, the truck is doing great mechanically. I jumped in on a good deal that came...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

LOL. Funny that I have an impact driver and used it and it wouldn't break loose. I did get it to work on one that I was having issues with so I skipped the easy out method.

    My new find... 1999 LX470

It was a pain and time consuming. I messed up a few times and had to redo some stuff. It took me a while to adjust and “calibrate” the glass to get it to shut right and settle correctly. Then I took the kids through the longest car wash in the world at Bucee’s for a leak test since we are going...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Disassembled the rack assembly and throughly scrubbed it. At 101* it was dry by the time I was done. I had some extra sound deadener so I threw it on the blank spots on the roof. Fully cleaned and reassembled sliding roof assembly. I also re-foamed around the AC register vents as mine were...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

I found the source of my water leak. This kinked sunroof drain. As I massaged it round again all this dirt fell out. I put two zip ties around it to keep it in shape and put two pieces of foam on either side to keep it from crushing again This little clip was a pain in my butt but...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

This weekend I started a long anticipated project… it worked for a few months after I got it but seized up one day. …. The Sunroof…. It started great. I stripped the head out of both tne handle screws on this handle… had to drill the hole and do the reverse screw easy out on both. Then the...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Ever since purchasing this LX470, the rear AC would sometimes work and flip to heat without warning or pattern. At the Yard I got the transmission at, I picked up the Rear AC Control panel from that one. I swapped them out and it works great now! The kids are relieved in this heat.

With the condenser fan not working, I ordered a Dorman unit from Rockauto to replace old bad unit after testing it. Easy 20-25 min swap. Works better all the time now, especially at stoplights. Old unit:

The parking brake cable seized up about a year ago. I kept shooting PB blaster into the cable sleeve a few times and it never broke loose so I went and bought a new one.more of a pain than most as I had to take the center console out completely. New part Brake Cable #1 Had to pull everything...

Interesting thing here. The torque converter let go in my LX470 after 407k miles so I called the shop and asked to come get the truck back. I paid for a couple hours diagnostics time and that was about it. They were pretty sure they narrowed it down to the AC Amplifier. I pick the LC up and...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Sorry, y’all! I’ve been slackin’. We started baseball practice for both teams and it took up a lot of free time. That following Monday I received my Aisin WS tranny fluid and threw it in. It took 9-1/2 quarts! Turned the truck on and cycled through the gears a couple times and felt it bite...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Woke up this morning and got to work. I had help for 3 hours. My littlest (5 y.o.) helped wrap up broken wire looms and add back missing plastic loom. We learned how to use the breaker bar, 12V Ratchet, and 3 different jacks today. Installing transaxle onto new tranny. Operating the tranny...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Dropped one kiddo off at a cousin’s house and the other two want to watch a movie so I decided to Jack the truck up and remove skid plates and make a plan. Then I just removed it. Fluid looks good and clean. Very few and small metallic picked up by the bagged magnet dragged through the fluid...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

Yes it was a little stressful but luckily only for a few minutes. Yes it did make that long. Pretty impressive! I may tear into it later to see what happened and if it is salvageable.

    My new find... 1999 LX470

I move fast I guess. Checked eBay, Craigslist, OfferUp, car-part.com and FB Marketplace for part outs. Found a 152,000 mile 1998 LX part out on FB Marketplace. The truck was lightly wrecked in the front and had caught fire in the front. The yard had the tranny so I went and picked it up for $1k...

    My new find... 1999 LX470

When it rains it pours… Family in the truck last night headed to gymnastics, check engine comes on, I hear a weird sound in the driveline, roll the window down, sounds bad, give it some gas and it doesn’t accelerate while heading up the highest overpass in Houston. Glide to the shoulder 3/4 of...
