Hey Folks,
I’m in the process of replacing my FCR on my BJ73. I’m wondering if anyone knows what size electrical pins these are. There are about 8 million different types of pins. I could cut the old ones off and splice them to the new wires, but I’d like to keep things clean.
Thank you, OG Beno, you are very helpful. That looks like it might work. I guess I would need to get 84461-60040 to screw into the bottom of it? It seems like the drain would hit the radiator hose.
Hello Ralf,
Thank you so much for your ideas. I have the sediment filter on the firewall like you do. It was disconnected when I bought it. I bought the truck from a guy in Idaho who had only owned it for a few months. It originally came from Poland. So who knows why it doesn't have the...
No they don't. That's the problem. If you look closely at the stock photo, you can see little holes at the bottom of the threads where a plug would go. I believe these holes are meant to let water pass through to another reservoir. I emailed Cruiser Teq and they didn't have a filter that would...
I'm hoping somebody can help me with this. I'm looking to replace the fuel filter on my 1985 BJ73, 3B. I've scoured pictures of all kinds of 3B engines on BaT, here, everywhere and none of them seem to have the setup that is in mine. It came with a NAPA SF5089 filter. The previous owner put an...
Hey folks,
I've searched around and can't find any answers about this. Since I have my radiator getting re-cored, I have been trying to clean up the engine bay in my LHD 1985 BJ73. While I was in there, I noticed a cut in my power steering hose. It isn't leaking, yet. Before I take the whole...
I've started in on replacing/fixing my radiator and waterpump. The radiator started leaking so I ordered a new aluminum off of eBay. Unfortunately, it's too wide and I don't have any fabrication skills so it's getting sent back. Hopefully, the radiator shop in Missoula can fix my old one. I have...
Very interesting. I haven't had a chance to really follow the wires yet, but that device looks handy. There are so many random wires, plugs and harnesses behind the dash and along the rear quarter panels.
Thank you for the welcome.
It has a 3b in it. I found a receipt inside the dashboard, behind the radio from Besancon, France, so maybe it lived there before going to Poland. I bought if from a guy in Sandpoint, ID who had it imported earlier this year. It still had the polish plate on it when...
I have full front and rear doors. The vehicle also came with some crashed barn doors from a Prado. I was able to saw off the top part of them and make them into half doors.
Here's a mysterious fuse box on my BJ73. (Well, I think this is a row of fuses.) I can't figure out what it might have been used for. Does anybody have any ideas? It doesn't seem to be connected to anything anymore.
Imported vehicles are strange. I also found a parking pass from Besancon...
What did I do on my 70 today? I'm in the process of flushing out the radiator, but I can't figure out how to access the rear bolt on the thermostat housing of this 3B, so the job is going slowly. I also replaced the glow plugs.
Howdy folks, I've been watching this forum from the shadows for a while now, but I guess I better introduce myself. This is Herp, a 1985 BJ73 from Poland. My four year old son named the vehicle. I live in Butte, MT and we have finally started to get some snow. Time and my lack of mechanical...
