The pads seem evenly worn. This is a new issue, I'm guessing to be not hosing stuff down after my last trip out to the desert. But, I will make sure to grease the pins well when it all goes back together.
If it's shifting ok, you are fine. The most common solenoid issue is not going back into first after a complete stop. It's a LOT of fluid if its shifting fine.
Yeah, its mostly a weekend warrior. This particular problem arose from me not washing my rig after a trip to the desert in November. There is actually quite a bit of rust under it just from those 3 days. I appreciate your take on the Powerstop kit. I will probably get OEM rotors. I'm gonna keep...
Happy Sunday.
I went to move y rig yesterday after sitting for a while. Didn't want to move. Almost like the parking brake was still on. I made sure it wasn't, so I gave it some beans. then a LOUD POP. I thought that i had broken an axle. Went to put it in the car port and there was a squeak...
Hi all, I am looking for a set of drawers for a FJ80. I am looking for ones that only go where the third row seats are, and have the wings that seal to the side panels. I am in central CA, but will travel for the right deal.
Thanks
While not super close, there are good shops on the central coast. Nelson's garage in Morro Bay is one I've heard about. Owned by an 80 enthusiast. I do know there is another up there somewhere, but not sure where. it's worth going to a good shop. I take mine to Stockton (4 hours away) just to...
I'm pretty sure that I got the very last one from Whole Hog. It was out of his personal rig. Even had to buy the sub and amp with it. They do come up for sale every-so-often. A self contained unit like above is a great option, especially if you have the space under the passenger seat from...
Thanks Dave, I appreciate the offer. I actually have planted brackets from an ill-fated attempt to put tesla seats in my 80. I think that I'm just going to buy the in stock grey seat. I would still like to sit in one. I do appreciate all of the input. - Andrew
I have 3 herniated disks. I am also 6'3" and 325lbs. You are correct, the stock seats suck for anything longer than a short trip. But it would be nice to sit in one before I pay all of that money.
I'm not opposed to the price, but it would be nice to sit in one before spending that much money. This will be the second set of seats the I have bought. The first were out of a tesla. Comfy, but sit about 3" higher than the stock seat.
I have a bad back. I can only take so much of the stock seat. I have talked to Toby at S-M, and he suggested I try to find one to try. He thinks the lower bolsters might be an issue for me, due to my size.
